Are there any protest when a famous black singer sings the national anthem, clearly written by white people about a white country. I'm sorry but with all the good causes out there to end racism this is the kind of thing that is not only a waste of time but actually hurts

Not to mention that we are becoming a more mixed-race country all the time where you can't really tell if someone has more black in them then another person. If the goal is ever to not see color because we can't see into someone's DNA then this sort of bullshit has to stop

and why aren't black people allowed to protest against this? where's their freedom of speech? it doesn't seem to work both ways for you.

no, that's your so-called freedom of speech. if you don't like the protests, don't cancel your show! i'm sure there's plenty of other mindless white people willing to watch anyways.

I know I know that would be a really terrible thing. It would be like if people other than white people played Major roles in a musical about our founding fathers. Just totally unacceptable.

So just to be clear you are saying that all music written & historically performed by a singular ethnic group cannot be used by any other ethnic group ?
-
Slave songs. By black slaves. Read.

People are not ready for a post racial society. First we must embrace each other then when we do it is offensive.

So now whites cannot sing jazz or spirituals, blacks cannot do opera or old hymns? Who is the racist here?

Here we go again. When will you all sit on one table, shake hands and have a beer and laugh instead of stabbing each other in the back? Smdh

Can’t we just ignore black and white, and just respect each other’s story? Make new history...

Irish Slaves don't exist because the idea destroys the narrative.
-
Were they going to sing Irish slave songs?
-
I's the by that builds the boat, I's the by that sails it. Good ole Irish shanty songs. But honestly, unlikely
-
Irish people were indentured, meaning contracted, meaning they were free after a certain amount of time. Black chattel slavery was so horrendously different. People talk about black people singing the American anthem? Black people are American too, fought in the Revolution etc!
-
Nope, Irish people were also pure slaves. You can't use it as a contracted concept. Or else I can say that the slaves from Africa were also products sold to them by the Slave owners of Africa. And could escape slavery by purchase. Freeman as a name.
-
Irish people were literally indentured laborers that we’re free after a period of years lol, slaves were slaves for life, children were born and died as slaves. Very rarely able to even purchase freedom, and I’m rare cases they could would continue to be murdered
-
Unlike the routinely freed Irish people who kept their money and continued to purchase slaves and plantations like the racists they too were.
-
Slavery was a 13 colonies issue. Most of America, and Canada stopped slavery. Europe had it first, and still does. Majority of the countries population did not have slaves like you think. It really was a smaller localized issue that you carry with you for centuries.
