京都発ライヴカセットより。透明プラスティック・スリーヴ入りの、くり抜いた発泡スチロールにパックされたカセットテープ、という体裁がイカす。札幌 "Banana Moon" にて購入。当時は輸入盤を扱っていた "Disk Up" 以外では、此処が主な自主制作盤の入手先だった。音はというと、良くも悪くも当時らしい内容。此れが "今やるべき事"だったのだ。貴重な処では Dried Cellと デビュー直前のGuernica。前者はEP-4初期、佐藤薫のユニットだったと思う。Throbbing Gristleっぽいが、以外にもZepp "Dazed and confused" かとも思う（笑）。改めてGuernica二人の、特に戸川純の圧倒的な才能に惚れる。

何故か年末のノイズ押し。てか今日はイヴじゃん。不健康極まりない。

Side Aはドローン的内容だがSide Bは一転してパーカッシヴ。デジタルパーカッションの音色やヴォーカルエフェクト等、相変わらずのセンスの良さに加えてCoseyのトランペットも最高。

Derek Jarmanが撮った"Psychic Rally in Heaven"は此のライヴ。

尚テープなので曲の特定が困難なためSide AとSide Bの2曲とした。

家宝"From Brussels With Love"の翌年、同クレプスキュールからの素晴らしい二枚組オムニバス。古典に彩られたポピュラーミュージックの前衛、などと破綻した形容しか思いつかない。

Roddy Frame参加の"The French Impressionists"、Virginia Astleyのピアノをバックに”Marguerite Duras”インタビュー、This Heat - A New Kind Of Water"を思わせるメロディーの"323"、本盤のみでしか聴けない"DNA"3曲（後にCD化）、"William S. Burroughs"のライヴ等、2007年にLes Temps Modernesからボーナス付きでCD化されたが今だに興味は尽きない。全くらしく無い"Paul Haig"が最も本盤の趣旨を体現している様に思える。Hannebertのジャケットもまた素晴らしい。

Arthur Russell (1952-1992)

現代音楽からビートニクス、そしてパンクからディスコ、ガラージュ＆ヒップホップへ。いわばNY周辺でイノベーティヴな音楽の「触媒」としての役割を担った、類まれな才能ある彼の本業はチェロ奏者。エイズで鬼籍へと入った後に改めて評価された一人だが、今回Wikiに書かれているその凄まじい人脈に唖然。Talking Headsもとい、The Modern Lovers関連で名前を知り、彼の"Dinosaur L"1stが手刷りシルクスクリーンだったため購入。だが当時オレはPost Punkに浸っていたため次第に興味を失った訳だが、昨年再発を知り（ボックスでさらに手刷りシルクスクリーン！）改めて購入しハマると云う結果に。本盤は上記ディスコ＆ガラージュ時代な訳だが、Larry Levan、Francois K、Walter Gibbonsの全盛期と相まって最高の一箱。

"In May 1997 Lo Recordings received a DAT tape containing 30 different one-minute guitar pieces by Thurston Moore. Each piece was copied onto individual tapes and packaged in custom designed vaccum cleaner bags. One hundred bags were sent out to a selection of visual artists and musicans, inviting them to create a brand new work utilising the original piece as a starting point.

This CD contains 25 of the musical contributions plus a selection of images from The Root Exhibition - Held at Chisenhale Gallery and organized by Lo Recordings in association with commercial too."

通算3枚目のアルバム（ROIRカセットと限定版を除く）は幾分華やかだった前作に比べて再度1stに立ち返った様な印象。其の1stアルバムは1977年リリースだが、何と1970年から現在まで活動している彼ら（Wiki調べ）。Martin Revは不明だが、Alan Vegaは御年73歳。此の頃は50歳だったはずで全身全霊を込めて尊敬に値する。3年前にはAlanの70歳を祝って "Blast First Petite (UK)"より、Bruce Springsteen、Lydia Lunchなど様々なミュージシャンに彼らの楽曲がカバーされた10" EPがシリーズでリリースされた。近々アップの予定。

Second untitled track on side B consists of Jim Jones's voice coming out of the right channel & Charles Manson's voice coming from the left channel. 

The two tracks are pressed using a double groove. If you put the needle anywhere on the side, you’ll never know if you'll ear Topy’s Spokesman or Jim Jones & Charles Manson.

B面は１曲だが、溝が２本有り針がどちらに落ちるかわからないというもの。一つはThe Temple Ov Psychick Youth (TOPY) のスポークスマンからのメッセージ。もう一つは右チャンネルにJim Jones、左チャンネルにCharles Mansonの演説。よってA面の"Roman P"とは必然的に "Roman Polanski"。PDFにまとめたブックレット記載の上記写真もイカス。全てのギミックがジェネ子らしいが、此の頃はまだPaulaと結婚してて、メンバー写真手前に写っているのは其の子供。
