    I've been doing a silent survey on the side by observing consumer choices of some Ugandan lawyer friends. Since May, I've done 10 Cafe Javas lunch meetings with . 8 of them had the "split decision" on the menu. Only 1 joked about it. 7 just ordered it subconsciously

    This idea that the problem is ill-mannered youth/hooliganism shows a fundamental failure to understand the reasons for young people's frustration. Framing the youth merely as pawns also fails to acknowledge their agency. Try listening to them instead of talking down to them.

    It's a form of security/bond (on Court forms) not in actual cash as commitment to comply with the set terms, and in case of non compliance, Court can cancel the non cash requirement and ask for the cash as a punishment for non compliance with the agreed terms

    What does it mean to execute a non cash bond?

    In law, the UGX 5 million non cash bond for the accused persons and UGX 10 million non cash bond for sureties is what we call "recognizance". It can be called to crystalize as cash if there is breach of bail terms such as accuseds' failure to report to Court as scheduled
