In five years of reporting, I don't think I've worked on a story where the facts have been played with as much as with Heathrow Here's a thread about 👇✈️

  8. So inspiring to discuss a new GCSE in Natural History. How can we be losing over half of our farmland birds without even noticing? This would be a brilliant way of addressing ‘nature deficit disorder’ & reconnecting young people to the natural world. Please RT if you agree!

So many MPs willingly put a wrecking ball to our climate policies by voting for expansion. . leads on climate for - she abstained. Sometimes abstentions are for sickness etc, but if not this is a huge disappointment.

I, for one, am delighted that we can look forward not only to a massive Brexit dividend but also to a third runway at Heathrow that will cause no extra noise or pollution. Like Alice, I try to believe six impossible things before breakfast.

As MPs debate Heathrow, here's a reminder that to keep the Paris deal's 1.5 target means that by 2050, aviation emissions could consume half (yes, half) of our carbon budget. And that's without a new runway

Just as we need billions of pounds and the minds of our best engineers to invest in building a zero carbon future, we instead waste time, money and effort on the dangerously high-carbon . Future generations will wonder what the hell our MPs were thinking.

Please vote against Mary. As chair of you know better than most that there are no jobs on a dead planet. Heathrow expansion simply isn’t compatible with our climate commitments - & all of us who know that have a responsibility to stand up for what we know is right

The Government is trying its best to avoid talking about climate change in relation to . But they cannot avoid the truth - and they need to wake up to the fact that their plans will wreck our climate policies.

Today is a day of Government-induced environmental disaster. First they plough ahead with expansion. And now they put a nail in the coffin of the tidal lagoon. The Green veneer has well and truly been peeled away from the Tories.

Thanks for your bold and clear statement outside Parliament today! We cannot build a new runway and address climate change - today's vote will separate MPs who are serious about climate justice from those who are not.

I write for : There is no question about how MP will vote on . There should be no question about how any MP will vote - but since there is there is there should be a three-line whip

My speech at the weekend. It's time for the anti-brexit campaign to wake up and win. “We can’t afford to be defenders of the establishment, of some kind of vapid centrism that has failed in the past and will fail again.”
