In the '50s, my father John served in the military in S. . It was after the stalemate, but no one knew if the aggression would start up again. Having a form of epilepsy, I was ineligible to serve. So I salute my father and the entire Armed Services on this .

Frenchie The Cat thought of the day: "Oh,good, you're coming to say hello! I've been so bored today. I spent the last half hour with a lizard in my mouth, but he wasn't very talkative. So -- come talk to me!"

Happy birthday (1908) to British writer who brought to the movies the great spy James Bond in Dr. No, the fun mix of spy intrigue and comedy in Casino Royale, and the fantasy world of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, with its subtle references to Nazi Germany. Good show, Ian!

The Mob has no interest in apologies, justice or reformed offenders. Only punishment and shame especially retroactively, then proof isn't necessary. Our judicial system is what needs reformed and they definitely owe an apology to Roman and myself.

Just watched the wonderful ‘There’s No Business Like Show Business,’ a 1954 musical that takes a fond look at vaudeville; it has a fun script by Lamar Trotti, songs by Irving Berlin, and the amazing Ethel Merman, who was made for the movies

Happy birthday (1911) to Vincent Price, known for his great horror roles, but a fine dramatic actor too. I loved him in the religious drama The Song of Bernadette, the classic noir Laura, the sci fi hit The Fly, and his best Edgar Allan Poe film, Masque Of The Red Death. Superb!
