EA Purchases PopCap

Gamers enjoying ScreenBurn 2011. Photo by Ran An.Three weeks ago, it was reported that Electronic Arts had stepped up to the plate to buy mobile/casual gaming publisher PopCap for a cool $1 billion. Looks like it's official now, as Electronic Arts has confirmed that it has purchased PopCap for a final sum of $650 million and $100 million in shares of EA common stock. As a part of this deal, PopCap will also get a multi-year earn out that could push the sticker price north of $1 billion.

Don't delay, get your entry in the PanelPicker interface ASAP. Remember, you'll still have until August 5 to put any finishing touches on your proposal before community voting begins on August 15.
