    Precip. rates increasing so cooling from melting is lowering the freezing level, more and more snow reaching the ground. At the surface, the rain/mix/snow line is rapidly moving east. Where falling faster than melting it's sticking.

    Repeating a heads-up that today we will likely get flurries if not snow squalls with the second Arctic front that will move through late AM-mid PM today. Could be brief but heavy squalls. After that, the real cold winds move in through overnight.

    A la the RPM model future radar, don't be surprised if with the passage of the second, more brutal Arctic front on Wed. afternoon that many of us get some flurries or snow squalls that could cause brief, hazardous driving. (data from 21z run 1/29).

    The last band of heavy snow is moving through Montgomery County and what we'll call the VA-28 corridor: Fairfax, Prince William, southern Fauquier, and then down into Culpeper County, moving east into the heart of the DC metro. Very heavy snow on the way to the Beltway
