    Reminder - 2days left until 30 June inclusive to apply for settlement as per Akinsanya - for anyone who has a zambrano visa or is the parent of a child in the uk. If the case succeeds at the court of appeal too, you will get immediate settlement upon reaching / reached 5 years.

    18/2/21: The Court of Appeal have held it is unlawful for British naturalisation to be charged in applying for a child’s nationality so great news for those who would have had to pay £1012 to the Home Office for each child!

    A claim was made against our client for a six figure amount where the other party was trying to claim ownership of her property. We successfully defended it and negotiated, which meant by consent our client saved a six figure sum that the other party had claimed against.

    Consent order agreed & thus Judge allowed a Final Order. There had been numerous allegations by the other parent who then dropped them at the hearing further to our negotiations. A good result for our client & without having to go through protracted lengthy court proceedings!

    Spouse extension visa granted where the Sponsor had a gap in the financial requirement due to redundancy during Covid-19 so technically did not meet the Rules but fortunately due to our representations, the Home Office still granted the visa under the existing five year route.

    Other parent had retained child after scheduled contact citing allegations against the mother & her family. Judge agreed with our submissions for the child to go back to her mother(our client) with the safeguarding we had proposed being ordered without Cafcass yet being involved!

    This week the Employment Tribunal heard an appeal supported by the which would mean women who are fired for a discriminatory reason, like sexual harassment, would be able to apply for interim relief entitling them to their salary until the end of their court case. 1/2

    ‘Parent of a Child’ visa successfully granted where the other parent refused to provide any of the child’s documents to the Home Office. The Home Office, however, accepted our legal submissions despite them having previously written to ask for the documents from the other parent.
