Pop American Style (1996)

If you want to know how some 7" single ended up in my collection, look no further than this fantastic double CD compilation from March Records. In the pre-internet days compilations were a good introduction to the world of independent artists. Of course now with YouTube, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, etc. the amount of music that one can sample freely is infinite. Compilations are still relevant though, simply because you're more likely to find music that suits your taste already grouped together.

A kind follower of this blog sent me this compilation album of early singles by Even As We Speak so I'm passing it on to you as it doesn't seem to be available online. I hope that the band will one day release their back-catalogue on Bandcamp, like they did for their BBC Radio sessions. In the meantime enjoy these recordings.
