    on this Day : On 01 Apr'54, Air Marshal Subroto Mukerjee took over as Commander-in-Chief of IAF.When Change in Designation Act 1955 was passed,title of Commander-in-Chief was replaced by Chief of the Air Staff. Thus,he became first Indian Commander-in-Chief & CAS.
