I am a doctoral student in the Department of Development Sociology at Cornell University, and will graduate in late Spring 2018.

My work focuses on and contributes to the study of historical sociology, environmental justice, agrarian change, planning, and heterodox Arab/North African social thought. My research is focused on the Middle East – North Africa area, especially Tunisia.

My dissertation is a history of modern Tunisia, focused on the social and ecological origins of underdevelopment, and the trajectory of post-colonial planning.
