It is aimed that the constitutional review process will lead to a permanent constitution of Somalia, to replace a provisional constitution adopted in 2012.
At the opening of a two-day, UN-supported conference on charcoal in Mogadishu, the Federal Government of Somalia has called for international, African and Gulf States cooperation in halting the illegal export of charcoal from the country.
As part of work to increase alternatives to charcoal, over 600 LPG gas cylinders, 300 fuel-efficient cooking stoves, and 20 tons of briquettes was handed over to the Federal Government, supported by funding from the European Union (EU)

Building communities’ ability to adapt to climate change by investing in long term water infrastructure projects and promoting livelihoods adaptation and diversification, can help build resilience to drought and flooding.
Mr. Steiner was visiting Somalia as part of a high level UN and World Bank joint visit, and was joined by Mr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, Senior Vice President, World Bank and Mr. Mark Lowcock, UN Under Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, and head of the UNOCHA.
