Since the spring of 2018, the UNDP “Small Towns” project has launched a series of seminars on the basics of entrepreneurship. Trainings are held for those residents of small and medium-sized cities of Viciebsk and Mahilioŭ region who are just thinking or already preparing to start their own business.
The UNDP "Small Towns" project team continues its educational tour through the regions of Belarus.
This time the training on the basics of entrepreneurship "Small Business with Result" was hosted by the city of Čerykaŭ, Mahilioŭ Region. The seminar was attended by the local unemployed, both beginners and businessmen with experience, representatives of the local business center, employees of social facilities of Čerykaŭ, employees of the local executive committee.
The UNDP “Small Towns” project continues the cycle of seminars on the basics of entrepreneurship. This time, students, undergraduates, postgraduates and teachers of the Faculty of Business and Law of the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy in the town of Horki, Mahiliou Region, took part in the trainings.
Five-year-long UNDP project, with budget of almost $5 million, to help Belarus manage and sustain forest and wetlands eco-systems more economically, while preserving flora and fauna.
According to experts, the process of Belarus' accession to the WTO is going smoothly and dynamically. On February 19, the final conference of the project "Assisting the Government of the Republic of Belarus in Accession to the World Trade Organization through Strengthening National Institutional Capacity and Expertise (Phase 4) was held”.

Event. Inclusive Belarus campaign 2016: Leaving No One Behind in Reaching Sustainable Development Goals
#InclusiveBelarus is the United Nations Belarus’ regional campaign aimed at reaching Sustainable Development Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities. By Travelling to 12 towns for seven weeks, the campaign focused to bring together representatives of international organizations, government, private and civil sectors, as well as vulnerable groups, on the way to a society of inclusion and equal opportunities for all.
What we do
UNDP has been working in Belarus since 1992, most recently under its Country Programme Document (CPD) 2016-2020. The current CPD focuses on three priority areas in line with the national development priorities:
- Stronger systems of inclusive and responsive governance;
- Greener growth incorporating productive capacities that target employment and create livelihoods for vulnerable groups;
- Better access to basic services for vulnerable groups.
