World Bank Funded the project with 300 Million USD to respond the crisis in #Yemen
Like many other Yemenis in the war zone areas, Ms. Hana, 20 years old, is one of those who and her family were severly and adversely impacted by the consequences of war in Aden, which started in March 2015
Funded by the European Union, the Enhanced Rural Resilience in Yemen is a three-year joint programme implemented by four Participating UN Organizations, namely Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO), International Labour Organization (ILO), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and World Food Programme (WFP).
With funding from USAID and in partnership with SMEPS in Yemen we help farmers in restoring their assets by bringing technology to those affected by war
UNDP has partnered with the Social Fund for Development (SFD) to implement USAID-funded Yemen Emergency Crisis Response Project (YECRP) to create employment opportunities, restore delivery of key health and education services, and revive the agriculture sector, thereby building the resilience of vulnerable local households and communities amidst Yemen ongoing crisis.
Our Results - 2016
Since March 2015, Yemen has experienced intensive conflict in most of the governorates. The escalation is a follow up to the crisis that started in September 2014 when a large part of the territory, including Sana’a, the capital city, were taken over by militia. In July 2015, Yemen was declared an L3 emergency as the conflict resulted in an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.
How we work
We conduct our initiatives directly and indirectly through implementing parteners which community organizations, public services and institutions, private sector, civil society organizations. Building our partners ability to deliver basic services will be a critical part of UNDP activities in Yemen.
What We Do
UNDP in Yemen aims to restore livelihoods, social cohesion and security, reflecting a minimum of conditions necessary for resilience while focusing on the community level.
In this regard, our priorities for Yemen are: Supporting a Peaceful Solution; Economic Recovery; Restoring Basic Services; Preparing the Ground; and Empowerment of vulnerable groups:
