I have a natural love for the Twitter platform and it's one of the social media platforms I use very often.   I always want to keep up to date with what's happening in the Tech world and Twitter gives me a very quick way of getting an overview of what's happening out there.   Being involved as one of the leads gives me the opportunity to see how the Twitter platform is developing and gives me a chance to share that information (through talks (by experts we engage) & workshops) with other developers who are also keen on seeing how Twitter develops even further.

Since taking over the running of the very first independent Twitter development community in the world in 2009 Angus has had a passion for the London Twitter development community and has run meet-ups ever since. With support from Twitter the London Twitter development community aims to be able to provide clarity about what technologies from Twitter can benefit a project or product, and what should be avoided, as well as excellent best practice examples from within the community and comprehension of Twitter's public developer roadmap.

I cofounded PuPPy (Puget Sound Programming Python) three years ago. I also run PyCon Startup Row for the Python Software Foundation at PyCon. Startup Row features early-stage companies at PyCon with free booth space. I love organizing developer community events. I believe in collaborative learning. Twitter has become the source of news and information for our generation, we no longer have to physically rally people together, with the click of a hash tag we can converge and discuss pertinent issues! We recently had a highly contested election in Kenya, and via Twitter, I was able to follow the elections frame by frame without once turning on the television! Getting the opportunity to cement Twitter's presence in Sub Saharan Africa was an honor, because as a community organizer, having a platform that evens out the playing field while giving each citizen an opportunity to make their opinion heard is of utmost importance.

Frank Arrigo is responsible for Evangelism & Ecosystem Engagement, in Telstra’s Technology Innovation & Strategy group, based out of the office of the CTO. Frank originally joined the Telstra Software Group, and was responsible for Telstra’s API Strategy. Before Telstra, Frank was with Microsoft for 22 ½ years, where he most recently was a Principal Technical Evangelist in Microsoft’s Developer & Platform Evangelism (DPE) field evangelism team. Frank had been based in Seattle from 2007 to 2011 where he led the Technical Evangelist community for DPE. Since joining twitter way back in December 2006, I’ve been a raving fan and a daily twitterer. I had the opportunity to attend a #TapIntoTwitter session at NairobiTechWeek 2016, I developed a strong interest on data on Twitter Platform. I was amazed by how this data can be put into use to make a major positive impact in the society. I thought of several challenges affecting my city and tweeted by people right from terrorism to flooding caused by improper dumping and drainage strategies adapted by the County government. We brainstormed on what Developers can do. This when an opportunity came up. The Twitter Team was looking for Community Leaders to spearhead the Nairobi Twitter Developers Community. I first came across the Twitter developer communities and decided to get involved through my work with Sprout Social. We work closely with Twitter and many of the other social media giants, and Twitter in particular captured my interest due to the open and searchable nature of their platform and data. With my math background I have a strong interest in data analytics and big data, and Twitter is a unique intersection of those interests with a public and social space. Twitter has been my favorite social media as it enables me to connect with friends and gets me updated with latest news happening in the community.
