The Palestinian Lyana Saleh is the youngest cinema director -17 years old- and her film A Ball and a Coloring Box was well-regarded by the audience in the Arab festivals.
The Golden Award for the long film category was given to Meeting Resistance for
the British directors Steve Connors and Molly Bingham. For the medium film category,
the winning film was 4 ½ for the Swiss director Gianni Padlina. The Golden Award
for the short film category was given to My Treasure for the Chinese directors Jin
Yang and Zhang Li.
The Golden Award for the long film category was given to Forbidden Lies for the
Australian director Anna Broinowski. For the medium film category, the winning film
was Who I am? for the Italian directors Ingrid Demetz and Caroline Leitner. The
Golden Award for the short film category was given to Prisoner of War 57187 for
the Iranian director Vahid Zare Zade.
Three films won the Golden Award; for the long film competition was Bilal for the
Indian director Sourav Sarangi; for the medium film was Eya Naxi People by the Chinese
director Guoyao Wu; and for the short film was Finding Home by the Belgium director
Christopher Daley.
The Golden Awards were distributed among Final Image for the long film competition;
Baghdad Angel for the medium film competition; and Muna for the short film competition.
The Golden Awards were given to Pink Saris for the long film competition; Shooting
Muhammed for the medium film category; and Unearthing the Pen for the short film
category.
½ a Revolution was the winner of the Golden Award for the long film competition;
Permission to Engage was the winner of the Golden Award for the medium film competition;
and the Golden Award for the short film competition was for Nomadic.
