    The original late 1960s/early 1970s plan for the Truman Sports Complex included a sliding retractable roof that could cover either Kauffman Stadium or Arrowhead Stadium.

    Comerica Park's flagpole was originally in play (changed when fences were brought in for 2003). This was a carry over from Tiger Stadium's flagpole, which was also in play.

    Adolpus Busch wanted to rename the park Budweiser Stadium, but that wasn't PC at the time, so he named it Busch Stadium and invented Busch Beer.

    The fantastic scoreboard at Sportsman's Park. After a home run the neon cardinal (on the left) would swing and the eagle on top would flap its wings. The board also made a great target.

    This shot was taken, by , the moment Shibe Park/Connie Mack Stadium caught fire, 1971. The fire ultimately destroyed the ballpark a year after the Phillies moved into Veterans Stadium.
