Agreed, great piece. It's a subject I've been meaning to get to for [checks notes] 15 years now.

The most remarkable thing about these dudes, to me anyway, is that every single one of them seems convinced that he thought up the slogans first, that no one's heard them, that they're going to blow everyone away. Like, "Why's there no White History Month?! Boom! Checkmate!"

    1. This is a false choice; even fracked gas benefited from gov't help. 2. If Pruitt thinks this is a good thing, why is he trying to stop it by saving coal? 3. Why does Pruitt think it's a good thing to reduce carbon emissions?

One thing I don't understand: what is the market for these guys? The squeaky clean conservative dudes who look like they're 12yo and wearing dad's suit, repeating "provocative" conservative memes that were stale by the 80s. There are so many! Who are they for?

Cohen is so terrible his uncritical praise of Colin Powell's ridiculous UN speech doesn't make this top 10 worst list:

Thanks to Cardi B for highlighting how important it is for developed nations to reach net-zero carbon by mid-century so that developing nations have a little more breathing room.
