Awards season this year was dominated by the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements, shedding light on major gender issues in the entertainment industry. The Grammys went one step further by encouraging attendees to wear a white rose as a sign of their solidarity with the victims of sexual harassment, but Reba McEntire says the 53rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will not veer into that kind of political territory.

"No m'am, we are not," McEntire told TV Guide when asked whether the show would give any nods to #MeToo. "We're going to go out there and have fun, we're not talking politics. We're going to have fun."

Just because the ceremony is not going to tackle sexual harassment or women's equality, that doesn't mean it isn't going to address other issues, such as the shooting in Las Vegas last year, where a gunman opened fire on a group of concertgoers at the Route 91 Harvest music festival, killing 58 people.

"We are going to give recognition and tribute to the folks of the tragedy that happened here in Vegas not too long ago because a lot of our family in the country music business was involved," McEntire says. "And so we're going to tell them that we're still praying for them, thinking about them, and then the rest of the night's going to be having a lot of fun."

The 53rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards airs Sunday, April 15 at 8/7c on CBS.
