Action alert: Stop the harassment of Kevan Thakrar (UK)

Kevan Thakrar is an IWW member and miscarriage of justice who has served over a decade in prison. He was moved to the Close Supervision Centre at HMP Whitemoor in Cambridgeshire in July and is now being subjected to an even more repressive regime, as well as targeted harassment from prison officers.
Kevan repeatedly challenges his conditions and captivity with complaints and legal challenges, many often against prisoner officers and members of the Prison Officers Association. In retaliation, the Prison Officers Association have been actively encouraging officers to try to get Kevan moved to a different prison. Staff have been trying provoke an incident after Kevan’s requests for them to wear body-worn cameras (for his own protection, following incidents of physical violence inflicted against Kevan in the past). Known fascist has car vandalised in Bristol (UK)

The guitarist for ‘Queensbury Rules’ (a ‘Blood & Honor’ band) had his car sabotaged in the early hours of the 7th of August.
Wojciech (Woj) Wasilewski, a known fascist had all 4 tyres of his car punctured, the bodywork scratched and a message sprayed which reads: “Woj = Fascist” and on the otherside: “[heart symbol] ANNA YPG”.
The car was parked on Trinity St (New Town) St Philips, sometimes parked on Hassell Drive, both near Trinity Police Station, Bristol. The car is a red Hyundai, reg: EA60TWX
Woj and his Polish friends live above ‘Skin Deep’, a tattooist shop on Old Market (close to where the car was parked). The shop is run by ‘Ozzie’, an old National Fronter from Kingswood, Bristol.
Woj has been seen in a ‘Queensbury Rules’ T-shirt with “Pie and Mash” printed on the back (cockney slang for ‘fash’). It also had the slogan: “Five little words” which means “We go where we want”. But the reality is they don’t, their gigs are very secretive and so we decided to go below the belt and kick him in the bollocks.
There is graffiti near Woj’s flat, which is separate from this attack, that also mentions Anna Cambell: “When you fight fascism, the rules of engagement should be of your own making”

This document is a release of basic information about the former police infiltrator, Mark Kennedy. It describes his whereabouts, and his work and hobbies. It also includes a note on the former police infiltrator ‘Lynn Watson’. We hope it will bring them, and those like them, a sense of fear and insecurity. May it also provide those willing to act on such information with a good starting point….
Mark Kennedy infiltrated anarchist and activist groups and campaigns between 2003 and 2010 under the name of ‘Mark Stone’. As far as we know, he was involved with groups and individuals in the UK, Iceland, Germany, France, Denmark, the US and Spain where he gathered information for different police forces, sometimes unofficially, sometimes as part of formal international operations. He continued in similar roles for the private sector after leaving the police, and set up at least two of his own companies. (more…)

Update on the trial of comrades Sven and Natasha (UK)

Sven and Natasha had a short court hearing at Winchester on Wednesday 8th November. After a long time of ongoing negotiations in the background, their legal teams were able to meet with the prosecution and settle on a deal for both defendants that they were relatively satisfied with. They agreed to a non-cooperative plea deal which involved admissions of guilt about their own activities within the ‘conspiracy‘.
They did not relate to any other people. As a result, Sven and Natasha both entered guilty pleas for ‘conspiracy to blackmail’, and were bailed to await sentencing.
This now means that there will be no trial or any further hearings, with exception of sentencing, a date for which is still due to be decided.
(We expect it to be mid December or the start of January)

Unfortunately the website is down because of some server issue beyond our control, but it is being fixed and will be live again by the end of the week, hopefully.

‘The loneliness of the crowd’ – Another reflection on the events at this year’s London Anarchist Bookfair (UK)

Anarchists are no strangers to conflict or violence. Yet we feel that the way the conflict unfolded at this year’s London Anarchist Bookfair was deeply disturbing and should have nothing to do with anarchism. The organising collective have, as a result of events on the day and subsequent reactions, issued a statement announcing that they will not be doing a Bookfair again next year. What we would like to talk about here though is the worrying climate in which the events took place, and the dangers of dogmas in the anarchist milieu.
The events at the Bookfair
Some individuals attending the Bookfair, one of whom was a Green Party politician, distributed provocative leaflets on the perceived ramifications of changes to the Gender Recognition Act. They were confronted by a group and expelled.
But it didn’t just end there. Having defended those who had distributed the leaflets, Helen Steel (‘HS’), a long-standing agitator and comrade to many, became the group’s next target. HS is known for having fought the infamous ‘McLibel’ trial for over a decade, and was subjected to intrusive state surveillance by an undercover police officer who deceived her into a two-year relationship. HS had not given out the leaflets (contrary to rumour), but had expressed support for those who had, and maintains some positions held by ‘TERFs’ (Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists). ABOUT SAM AND HER CASE: Sam Faulder is an anarchist prisoner currently
serving a life sentence in England. Sam is a miscarriage of justice who
has done over ten years in the prison system.
She has been an anti-authoritarian her whole life and was relentlessly
targeted by police because of her lifestyle choices. After serving
nearly two years on remand, Sam’s trial was a disaster. Police
corruption impacted her trial and her solicitor firm withdrew from her
case three weeks before it began. Her need to appeal coincided with cuts
to legal-aid and she has been trapped in the prison system ever since. (more…)

11 Neo-Nazis arrested in two co-ordinated counter-terror raids (UK)

11 men have been arrested by counter-terror police in the UK following an investigation into the proscribed Neo-Nazi group National Action. National Action was banned as a terrorist organisation in December 2016 by the UK’s home secretary after the murder of Labour MP Jo Cox. “Death to traitors, freedom for Britain” became a slogan for the group after being said in court by Cox’s killer, Thomas Mair, an anti-Semitic, far-right extremist and white power activist who was glorified in their online propaganda calling for more murders. The group has been tied to several foiled plots and far-right violence. National Action models itself on European far-right Neo-Nazi hooligan street groups and autonomous nationalist organisations, copying tactics, rhetoric and aesthetics from these extreme-right groups which learnt initially from studying the success of their enemies, autonomous anti-capitalist organisations and anarchists.
After proscription, National Action was evading authorities by taking on new names – including ‘Scottish Dawn’ and ‘NS131’, and trying to go towards newer underground tactics. It seems the raids aimed to prevent this, the operation was investigation-led and based on police work into the group post-ban and followed on from recent arrests of members of the group in the military. Anti-fascist research estimates are that up to 60 members are still currently active, down from a peak of 150 when their Neo-Nazi conference was held in Southport.
Several of the alleged National Action supporters were arrested in and around Warrington, Cheshire, in the North-West, where the group was continuing to operate a hang-out in a small brick warehouse for Mixed Martial Arts training and recruitment. (more…)

Solidarity with comrade Patryk Cichon (Poland, UK)

At the beginning of May 2016 our comrade Patryk Cichoń from Poland was arrested by British police under an European Arrest Warrant. Patryk is a well known anti-fascist militant notorious among neo-Nazi-boneheads in his city for his uncompromising stance against them in the past. The boneheads managed to convince a few of their friends to testify against Patryk and his friend for an alleged assault and robbery. As later transpired, his friend had a very good alibi and had the charges against him dropped (despite being allegedly recognised by the “victim” and his friends), so Patryk ended up being sentenced on his own. The whole trial was an absolute travesty and Patryk, as a poor, young working class person, was not able to afford a proper defence. He spent two months on remand in 2004 and was sentenced to three years in prison.
It is clear that this whole case was politically motivated and had only one purpose, which was to get rid of the core of the anti-fascist resistance in Patryk’s home town. (more…)
