Denning can refer to any of the following:
Alfred Thompson "Tom" Denning, Baron Denning OM PC QC DL (23 January 1899 – 5 March 1999), commonly known as Lord Denning, was an English lawyer and judge. He gained degrees in mathematics and law at Oxford University, although his studies were disrupted by his service in the First World War. He then began his legal career, distinguishing himself as a barrister and becoming a King's Counsel in 1938.
Denning became a judge in 1944 with an appointment to the Probate, Divorce and Admiralty Division of the High Court of Justice and was made a Lord Justice of Appeal in 1948 after less than five years in the High Court. He became a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary in 1957 and after five years in the House of Lords returned to the Court of Appeal as Master of the Rolls in 1962, a position he held for twenty years. In retirement he wrote several books and continued to offer opinions on the state of the common law through his writing and his position in the House of Lords.
Steve Denning (born 11 January 1944) works in leadership, management, innovation, and organizational storytelling.
Stephen Denning was born 11 January 1944 in Sydney, Australia. He studied law and psychology at the University of Sydney and worked as a lawyer in Sydney for several years. He did a postgraduate degree in law at Oxford University.
Denning worked for several decades at the World Bank in many capacities and held various management positions, including Director of the Southern Africa Department from 1990 to 1994, Director of the Africa Region from 1994 to 1996, and Program Director for Knowledge Management from 1996 to 2000. After leaving the World Bank in 2000 he published five books on leadership storytelling and established himself as a global leader in the field. In 2001 he initiated the annual Organizational Storytelling Weekend in Washington D.C. under the auspices of the Smithsonian Institution.
In 2010 he broadened the focus of his work with his book, The Leader’s Guide to Radical Management: Reinventing the Workplace for the 21st Century (Jossey-Bass, 2010). In this book he argues that present day management needs to be reinvented. He sets out the principles and practices needed to accomplish that through five major shifts: (1) a shift in the firm’s goal from producing outputs to delighting the customer; (2) a shift in the role of the manager from a controller to an enabler of self-organizing teams; (3) a shift in the way work is coordinated from bureaucracy to dynamic linking, (4) a shift from value to values; and (5) a shift from top-down commands to conversation
James Douglas may refer to:
The prefix The Honourable or The Honorable (abbreviated to The Hon., Hon. or formerly The Hon'ble—the latter term is still used in India) is a style that is used before the names of certain classes of persons. It is considered to be an honorific styling.
In international diplomatic relations, representatives of foreign states are often addressed as "The Honourable". Deputy chiefs of mission, chargés d'affaires, consuls-general and consuls are always given the style. All heads of consular posts, whether they are honorary or career postholders, are accorded the title according to the State Department of the United States. However, ambassadors and high commissioners are never given the style, with the title "Your Excellency" being used.
In Australia, the style is generally used for an administrator of a territory, government ministers and judges of superior courts.
Governors
In May 2013, the style was given approval by the Queen to be granted to the Governor-General of Australia, both retrospectively and for current and future holders of the office, to be used in the form "His/Her Excellency the Honourable" while holding office and as "the Honourable" in retirement.

Traditional management has failed. The reinvention of management reflects in part an application of Agile/Scrum thinking to the whole organization. Drawing on his award-winning book, The Leader's Guide to Radical Management, Steve Denning shows how the transformation of management involves five fundamental shifts in terms of the firm's goal, the role of managers, the way work is coordinated, the shift from value to values and the shift in communications shift from command to conversation.

[Recorded March 29, 2007] Computing is no longer a science of the artificial. It is a science of natural information processes. The remarkable shift to this realization occurred only in the last decade. Computing is mature enough to be described in terms of its fundamental principles. The principles reveal computing's deep structure and how it applies in many fields. They reveal common aspects of technology and create opportunities for innovation. They open entirely new ways to stimulate the excitement and curiosity of young people about the world of computing. In the 1940s, computation was seen as a tool for solving equations, cracking codes, analyzing data, and managing business processes. By the 1980s, computation had advanced to become a new method in science, joining the tradition...

Climate sensitivity is a central scientific concept to understanding climate change. It is fundamentally the ratio between a “forcing” (changes in radiation) and “response” (changes in temperature). It is also scientists’ best answer to the million-dollar question of ‘How hot is it going to get!?!?’ In this first video interview by CCNF, acting journalist Michael Quirke explores this concept further with CCNF science-columnist Dr. Scott Denning, author of the recent blog-post, “Cause & Effect” on ClimateChangeNationalForum.org. Dr. Denning is the Montfort Professor of Atmospheric Science at Colorado State University and an author of over 90 publications in the peer-reviewed climate literature. In the interview, Dr. Denning provides some great commentary on how scientists arrive at their ...

The Heartland Institute's Fourth International Conference on Climate Change (ICCC-4) took place in May 2010 in Chicago, Illinois, addressing the theme "Reconsidering the Science and Economics." The speakers and audience considered how new scientific discoveries have cast doubt on how much of the warming of the twentieth century was natural and how much was man-made, and governments around the world are beginning to confront the astronomical cost of reducing emissions.
With the mainstay of Denning's forces being defeated we resolve to clean out the castle proper, however with new reinforcements coming in and Denning himself wandering around at will we are forced to end the life of the enemy commander/message machine.

If there is one scientific topic more polarizing than any other, it’s climate change. Chances are, if you’re a conservative, you’re skeptical of climate change and you read Watts up with that. If you lean to the left, you probably believe that climate change is real and serious, and you get your science news from Mother Jones. What few people on either side of this issue do, however, is really dive into the science of climate, put their biases aside and follow the evidence as best as they can. Today, I want to try do just that. My guest is Dr. Scott Denning. Scott is a professor of atmospheric sciences at Colorado State University, where he also earned his Ph.D. in the subject. His research interests include Atmosphere-biosphere interactions, the Global carbon cycle, Land-surface c...

Stay baby stay until the break of day
I'll show you love. I'll bring you joy but anyway
