Julie Tippetts (born Julie Driscoll, 8 June 1947) is an English singer and actress, known for her 1960s versions of Bob Dylan and Rick Danko's "This Wheel's on Fire", and Donovan's "Season of the Witch", both with Brian Auger and The Trinity. Along with The Trinity, she was featured prominently in the 1969 television special 33 1/3 Revolutions Per Monkee, singing "I'm a Believer" in a soul style with Micky Dolenz. She and Auger had previously worked in Steampacket, with Long John Baldry and Rod Stewart.
"This Wheel's on Fire" reached number five in the United Kingdom in June 1968. With distortion, the imagery of the title and the group's dress and performance, this version came to represent the psychedelic era in British rock music. Driscoll recorded the song again in the early 1990s with Adrian Edmondson as the theme to the BBC comedy series Absolutely Fabulous, the main characters of which are throwbacks to that era.
Since the 1970s, Driscoll has concentrated on experimental vocal music. She married jazz musician Keith Tippett and collaborated with him and now uses the name Julie Tippetts, adopting the original spelling of her husband's surname. She took in Keith Tippett's big band Centipede and in 1974 sang in Robert Wyatt's Theatre Royal Drury Lane concert. She released a solo album, Sunset Glow in 1975; and was lead vocalist on Carla Bley's album Tropic Appetites and also in John Wolf Brennan's "HeXtet".
Brian Albert Gordon Auger (born 18 July 1939 in Hammersmith London) is an English jazz and rock keyboardist, who has specialised in playing the Hammond organ.
A jazz pianist, bandleader, session musician and Hammond B3 player, Auger has played or toured with artists such as Rod Stewart, Tony Williams, Jimi Hendrix,John McLaughlin, Sonny Boy Williamson, Led Zeppelin, Eric Burdon and others. He has incorporated jazz, early British pop, R&B, soul music and rock, and he has been nominated for a Grammy.
In 1965 Auger formed the group The Steampacket, along with Long John Baldry, Julie Driscoll, Vic Briggs and Rod Stewart. Due to contractual problems, the band did not release anything during its lifetime, and broke up shortly after Stewart left in 1966. In 1965, Auger played on For Your Love by The Yardbirds.
With Driscoll and the band, Trinity, he went on to record several hit singles, notably a cover version of David Ackles' "Road to Cairo" and Bob Dylan's "This Wheel's on Fire", which was featured on Dylan Covered. In 1969 Auger, Driscoll and Trinity appeared performing in the United States on the nationally telecast 33⅓ Revolutions Per Monkee.
The Christian doctrine of the Trinity (from Latin trinitas "triad", from trinus "threefold") defines God as three consubstantial persons, expressions, or hypostases: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit; "one God in three persons". The three persons are distinct, yet are one "substance, essence or nature". In this context, a "nature" is what one is, while a "person" is who one is.
According to this central mystery of some Christian faiths, there is only one God in three persons: while distinct from one another in their relations of origin (as the Fourth Lateran Council declared, "it is the Father who generates, the Son who is begotten, and the Holy Spirit who proceeds") and in their relations with one another, they are stated to be one in all else, co-equal, co-eternal and consubstantial, and "each is God, whole and entire". Accordingly, the whole work of creation and grace is seen as a single operation common to all three divine persons, in which each shows forth what is proper to him in the Trinity, so that all things are "from the Father", "through the Son" and "in the Holy Spirit".

Brian Auger began his music career as a jazz pianist in the early 60s, playing in clubs around London. However by 1964 he had got himself a Hammond organ, and formed a new group called The Trinity with bassist Rick Brown and drummer Micky Waller, both previously of Cyril Davies' R&B; All-Stars. This group saw greater success, playing harder R&B; styled material. In 1965 they became part of The Steampacket, with singers Rod Stewart, Long John Baldry and Julie Driscoll, plus guitarist Vic Briggs. The Steampacket were an early 'supergroup' of sorts, but unfortunately never recorded a proper album and soon broke up.

The title of this budget compilation (previously released on Charly as London 1964-1967) is lifted from Julie Driscoll & the Brian Auger Trinity's best-known number, the spooky reinvention of Dylan's "This Wheel's On Fire" that became a monster hit in 1968. The contents, however, tell a different story entirely, as they dig back into the run of flop singles that both parties released in the U.K. in the years before they officially joined forces -- and which have been compiled on so many occasions in the past that it seems almost futile to take them once more around the block. THE MOVE - 1969 BBC COLOUR ME POP Colour Me Pop was a British music TV programme broadcast on BBC2 from 1968-1969. It was a spin-off from the BBC 2 arts magazine show Late Night Line-Up. Designed to celebrate the new introduction of colour to British television, it was directed by Steve Turner, and showcased half-hour sets by pop and rock groups of the period. The programme was a pioneering precursor to the better remembered BBC music programme The Old Grey Whistle Test (1971–87). Unlike its successor, most of the editions of Colour Me Pop are lost. The Move's set is from a much better condition source, and captures the four-man lineup in peak form -- all one has to do to fully enjoy it. If we want to be free, we must find our direction
And stay on the path that leads to our goal
Hold our heads high as we by-pass th old road
And stick to the truth that we’ve found in our soul
We’ll walk down our road and we’ll lift up the wounded
And nurse them to life with their heads on our breast
And those that were brave, but who didn’t survive
We’ll remember them knowing they died for the rest.
And we’ll open our mouths, and we’ll sing them a song
And we’ll hope that they hear us, and know they belong
Chorus: Walk down the road we find
And all that follow will be free
And while we’re searching for tomorrow
Smile on all the love we see
We’ll feel the love pour from the hearts of the people
And know that it’s true cause we won’t know of lies.
We’ll have no need of dope, nothing left to escape from
Turned on by life is the best kind of “high”
We’ll drink from streams of cool clear water
That won’t stain our lips with the blood of the dead
We won´t see it dripping red through our fingers
In pools on the ground where the bodies have bled.
And we’ll open the door and our hearts will be warm
And things will look good when our new day is born
Chorus: Walk down, etc
So we’ll shout out the truth and we’ll show how we feel
And just turn away from the dirt in our eye
Cause the young is the new, and the old is the withered
And those that last longest will win by and by
We’ll never look back once we reach where we’re going
And our road will take us where we want to be
Soon there’ll be happiness glowing around us
And all men will love and our children be free
And we’ll open our hearts and the sun will shine in
And things will look fine when our new world begins
