Coventry Climax was a British forklift truck, fire pump, racing, and other speciality engine manufacturer.

History

Pre-war

The company was started in 1903 as Lee Stroyer, but two years later, following the departure of Stroyer, it was relocated to Paynes Lane, Coventry, and renamed as Coventry-Simplex by H. Pelham Lee, a former Daimler employee, who saw a need for competition in the nascent piston engine market.

An early user was GWK, who produced over 1,000 light cars with Coventry-Simplex two-cylinder engines between 1911 and 1915. Just before World War I a Coventry-Simplex engine was used by Lionel Martin to power the first Aston Martin car.Ernest Shackleton selected Coventry-Simplex to power the tractors that were to be used in his Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition of 1914.

Hundreds of Coventry-Simplex engines were manufactured during World War I to be used in generating sets for searchlights. In 1917 the company was renamed to Coventry Climax and moved to East Street, Coventry.

Climax (Ohio Players album)

Climax is the sixth album by The Ohio Players and the last they would record for the Detroit-based Westbound label. They were signed to Mercury by the time Climax hit stores, perhaps the reason why it features only five new songs (with the other three pulled from previous albums). Their Mercury debut, Skin Tight, was released several months earlier.

Along with six originals, the album includes cover versions of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Proud Mary" and Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On", adding to the group's already growing repertoire.

Climax (2013 film)

Climax is 2013 Indian Malayalam biographical film directed by Anil Kumar and featuring Sana Khan in the lead. Climax depicts the life of erotic actress Silk Smitha. The film was dubbed into Tamil titled "Oru Nadigayin Diary" and released on 24 May 2013. But the disclaimer in the beginning states that the characters are imaginary.

Plot

Climax tells the story of Supriya, a starlet. She meets RK who wins her heart and later becomes her mentor. The film takes a twist when RK's son Rahul is infatuated by Supriya.

The film opened to negative reviews. Paresh C Palicha of Rediff.com writes "Climax is slow paced and uninteresting" and goes on to give 1/5.

Dino Crisis

Dino Crisis (ディノクライシス, Dino Kuraishisu) is a survival horror video game developed and produced by Capcom originally for the PlayStation console in 1999. It was developed by the same team behind Capcom's Resident Evil series, including director Shinji Mikami, and shares many similarities with the Resident Evil games that preceded it. The story follows Regina, a special operations agent sent with a team to investigate a secluded island research facility. Finding the place overrun with dinosaurs, Regina must fight through the facility to discover its secrets and ultimately escape alive.

Instead of the pre-rendered backgrounds of the Resident Evil games that preceded it, Dino Crisis uses an original real-time engine with 3D environments. Gameplay features traditional survival horror mechanics including action and puzzles. However, unlike the horror "fun house" feeling of its predecessors, Dino Crisis was developed to have more consistent visceral terror with the dinosaurs being quick, intelligent, and violent. Capcom would later market the game as "panic horror" as opposed to "survival horror" due to these design changes. The team used carnivorous animals as references for animating the dinosaurs and programming their behaviors. Mikami's vision for the game was not completely fulfilled, as he wanted to develop more complex dinosaur artificial intelligence. However, he did believe the team was able to create sufficiently detailed environments despite hardware limitations.

Klubbheads

Klubbheads is a team of dance music producers and DJs from the Netherlands. They have more than 40 aliases for their recordings, including Hi_Tack, DJ Disco and Drunkenmunky.

History

Koen Groeneveld (DJ Boozy Woozy) and Addy van der Zwan (Itty Bitty) first worked together in the Turn Up The Bass series of commercial mixes. They started producing music in the 1990s before meeting up with Jan Voermans (Greatski) in 1995. The trio created the sublabel Blue Records for parent Mid-Town Records to release their tracks as Klubbheads. In 1996, they had their first mainstream chart hit with "Klubbhopping", which reached #10 in the UK Singles Chart in May. It was followed up with two other entries into the Top 40, in August 1997 with "Discohopping" (#35) and in August 1998 with "Kickin' Hard" (#36). In 1999 they co-produced "The Launch" for compatriot DJ Jean, reaching #2 in September. At this time they also split up from Blue Records to found the label Digidance.

They scored a Billboard Hot Dance Airplay hit in 2003 with "E" (which samples Eminem's "Without Me") under the Drunkenmunky name. In other countries, it was released under the title "E (As In Eveline)" but the track didn't use the "Without Me" sampling. Their song "Yeah!" samples the crunk hit Yeah! by Usher to a similar success. In 2005 they sampled Rune RK's "Calabria" under the name Dirty Laundry. "Calabria" has been one of the most sampled songs used in the Dance community.
