The Fog is a 1980 American horror film directed by John Carpenter, who also co-wrote the screenplay and created the music for the film. It stars Adrienne Barbeau, Jamie Lee Curtis, Tom Atkins, Janet Leigh and Hal Holbrook. It tells the story of a strange, glowing fog that sweeps in over a small coastal town in California, bringing with it the vengeful ghosts of mariners who were killed in a shipwreck there exactly 100 years prior.
The Fog was Carpenter's first theatrical film after the success of his 1978 horror film Halloween, which also starred Jamie Lee Curtis. Although initially given mixed to positive reviews, the film was a commercial success and has achieved a cult following years since its release. A remake of the film was made in 2005.
As the Californian coastal town of Antonio Bay is about to celebrate its 100th anniversary, paranormal activity begins to occur at the stroke of midnight. Town priest Father Malone is in his church when a piece of masonry falls from the wall, revealing a cavity containing an old journal, his grandfather's diary from a century ago. It reveals that in 1880, six of the founders of Antonio Bay (including Malone's grandfather) deliberately sank and plundered a clipper ship named the Elizabeth Dane. The ship was owned by Blake, a wealthy man with leprosy who wanted to establish a leper colony nearby. Gold from the ship was used to build Antonio Bay and its church.
In the Fog (Russian: В тумане) is a 2012 drama film directed by Sergei Loznitsa. The film competed for the Palme d'Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. The film won the Golden Apricot at the 2012 Yerevan International Film Festival, Armenia, for Best Feature Film.
The film is an adaptation from Vasil’ Bykaw's short story. The action is set in 1942 on the territory of Belarus occupied by the German army. The Germans face strong resistance from the Partisans and hatred of local people. The Partisans suspect Sushenya, a track-walker, of collaboration with the Nazis because he was first arrested and then suddenly released after they had blown up a German train. Two of them capture Sushenya and lead him to the forest where they are going to shoot him as a traitor. They fall into a trap set by the Germans who severely wound one of the partisans. Sushenya attempts to save his executioner's life by carrying the wounded Partisan on his back to the nearest village. Nevertheless, Sushenya is under suspicion. He laments that he was a well-respected and trustworthy village resident, raising a family in peace, however the war changed that forever.
Rachel Sermanni (born 7 November 1991) is a Scottish folk musician from Carrbridge, in Strathspey. She has toured with a number of well-known folk and indie artists in the United Kingdom. Her first album was released in September 2012.
Sermanni's greatgrandfather moved from the Italian town of Barga to Scotland at a young age, the family later settling in Carrbridge, where she grew up. Her father is a police dog handler and her mother works for the National Health Service, helping children with mental health issues. She began singing and playing music from an early age in the forms of plays or spoof songs with her younger brother and sister, although at the time she dismissed this as being a normal household environment. Her father taught her to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the penny whistle which eventually led to the guitar.
Sermanni was influenced by musicians such as Eva Cassidy, Van Morrison and Bob Dylan and also often talks about vivid dreams that slowly transform into songs. She developed and understood performing when she began listening and performing Scotland's traditional music at school. One of the first songs she wrote at 16 was featured on the first album despite it being four years old by the time of its release. Later she performed in pubs around Glasgow, where many have a traditional music night. In September 2009 she went to see Mumford and Sons at the Loopallu festival in Ullapool. After the performance, she found them in a pub "and asked them if they wanted to jam", resulting in a jamming session on the beach. In 2011 she supported them at Dingwalls in London. Sermanni also toured with Fink on his European tour in 2011, was showcased at the Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow, has supported Elvis Costello and Rumer, and performed at 150 gigs between June 2011 and June 2012.

Hedgehog in the Fog [Ёжик в тумане], Yuriy Norshteyn (1975) This is a story about a little hedgehog (voiced by Mariya Vinogradova) and his friend bear cub (voiced by Vyacheslav Nevinniy). The two would meet every evening to drink tea from the cub's samovar, which was heated on a fire of juniper twigs. As they drank their tea, the hedgehog and the bear conversed and counted the stars together. One day, the hedgehog decided to bring raspberry jam. As he went to the bear to count the stars, he passed through the woods and found a horse standing in a fog, where the hedgehog can't even see his own pink paw. He is curious as to whether the horse would drown if it went to sleep in the fog. The hedgehog decides to explore the fog.

Trapped within an eerie mist, the residents of Antonio Bay have become the unwitting victims of a horrifying vengeance. One hundred years ago, a ship carrying lepers was purposely lured onto the rocky coastline and sunk, drowning all aboard. Now they're back, long-dead mariners who've waited a century for their revenge. an oppressive and tearing memory... i like a damp
darkness to crawl over. the heart and the mind will get
shrouded in dampness. there is mud and dampness on dead
plains, the whirlwinds spin there and winds whistle. my
dark friend, running away from the warmth, will soar
again, spreading his crow’s wings. to make up under rime,
in the winter’s snow. under deserted expanse, in the
rotten foliage. look at them! in a boundless blackness
cattle is crawling, like worms through the grave. in a
moment the mongrels will devour a part of destiny, stuck
like a bone in the throat. in the soul there is an
endless and boundless whirl, the space of night is the
sleep’s deformity, which bounded the minutes of waking
up. in the fog monstrous mountains of ice began to
sparkle black.
