Q) I was able to preserve my default settings.
A) If you change the selection during the upgrade you can hit the default action is to reset them which is wrong. The default action should be to leave them alone and MICROSOFT knows this! If you click next you fly by it.
Q) Would you make videos like this if you still work for Microsoft?
A) No, Microsoft has a strict policy preventing any employee from speaking out against the company or any of their policies publicly while you're working for them. A simple social media post can get you fired. While working there they saw one of my private Facebook posts complaining about Xbox Live customer support and I got talked to by my skip level manager and told I had to delete it and if I posted negative stuff again I would be terminated.
Q) Has MICROSOFT talked to you about these videos?
A) They used to engage me on social media but they were told to ignore me claiming I was just a minor annoyance.
Q) Aren't you scared of MICROSOFT suing you?
A) MICROSOFT can't sue me for having an opinion, and honestly if they did sue me then I would be all over the media and my videos would go super viral and it would be really bad for them. It's easier for them to just ignore me since right now only a small fraction of their users see my videos where as a law suit would expose me to their entire user base over night.
Q) Why do you hate MICROSOFT so much?
A) I don't hate Microsoft, I actually like the software that they produce and loved the company for most of my career. What I don't like is the companies policies that pretend to care about privacy and customer trust when they are doing everything to damage it. Microsoft used to condemn other companies for what it actively is doing under Satya's command. I honestly would love to see MICROSOFT return to trustworthy computing and putting the customer first and focusing on their strengths instead of copying the competition and being even dirtier in their tactics. I might dreaming thinking I can make a difference but with you and everyone else reading this our voices can be heard. Microsoft can only screw people if they can't see them doing it. When it becomes hugely public they will play it off as a 'big' claiming they didn't mean to do it and fix it. But, results are results.

1) "some settings are managed by your organization" is displayed because Spybot Beacon changes some group policy settings. I didn't realize this while shooting the video but it makes sense.
2) If you notice Skype Group Chats stop working open up the HOSTS file and remove all of the entries containing MSN. I've had one report of this fixing the problem.

Q) I like Cortana so I don't want to disable that feature.
A) That is fine, but just realized that Microsoft intentionally made Cortana dependent on the cloud meaning you have to give up your information, searches, contacts, calendar entries, etc to use her. You can't pick and chose what gets sent to Microsoft and still use the feature. It's all or nothing and I think this sends a bad message from Microsoft on what they are actually doing with that data. #TinfoilHat
Q) Why do you hate Microsoft so much?
A) I don't hate Microsoft, I worked there for 15 years as a Senior Software Developer. Windows is still my preferred platform that I use daily. What I don't like is the direction Microsoft is taking with regards to advertisement and marketing being the focus over the core operating system and innovation.
Q) You should just run Linux!
A) I like Linux but it's not in any position to be a replacement for an operating system like Windows. There is no Adobe support on Linux and it's not ideal for mainstream content creators and software developers. But who knows what the future holds if Microsoft keeps going down this dark street.
Q) What is telemetry?
A) It's Microsoft collecting data on your computer, what you search for, usage patterns, application usage, etc so they can analyze the data or use it for marketing.

Windows 10 is a personal computer operating system released by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. It was officially unveiled in September 2014 following a brief demo at Build 2014. Windows 10 introduces what Microsoft described as a "universal" application architecture; expanding on Metro-style apps, these apps can be designed to run across multiple Microsoft product families with nearly identical code—including PCs, tablets, smartphones, embedded systems, Xbox One, Surface Hub and HoloLens. The Windows user interface was revised to handle transitions between a mouse-oriented interface and a touchscreen-optimized interface based on available input devices—particularly on 2-in-1 PCs; both interfaces include an updated Start menu that blends elements of Windows 7's traditional Start menu with the tiles of Windows 8. What I don't like is the companies policies that pretend to care about privacy and customer trust when they are doing everything to damage it. I honestly would love to see MICROSOFT return to trustworthy computing and putting the customer first and focusing on their strengths instead of copying the competition and being even dirtier in their tactics. When it becomes hugely public they will play it off as a 'big' claiming they didn't mean to do it and fix it. I didn't realize this while shooting the video but it makes sense. 2) If you notice Skype Group Chats stop working open up the HOSTS file and remove all of the entries containing MSN. I've had one report of this fixing the problem. ▼ Questions & Answers ▼ Q) I like Cortana so I don't want to disable that feature. A) That is fine, but just realized that Microsoft intentionally made Cortana dependent on the cloud meaning you have to give up your information, searches, contacts, calendar entries, etc to use her. You can't pick and chose what gets sent to Microsoft and still use the feature. It's all or nothing and I think this sends a bad message from Microsoft on what they are actually doing with that data. #TinfoilHat Q) Why do you hate Microsoft so much? A) I don't hate Microsoft, I worked there for 15 years as a Senior Software Developer. Windows is still my preferred platform that I use daily. What I don't like is the direction Microsoft is taking with regards to advertisement and marketing being the focus over the core operating system and innovation. Q) You should just run Linux! A) I like Linux but it's not in any position to be a replacement for an operating system like Windows. There is no Adobe support on Linux and it's not ideal for mainstream content creators and software developers. But who knows what the future holds if Microsoft keeps going down this dark street. Q) What is telemetry? A) It's Microsoft collecting data on your computer, what you search for, usage patterns, application usage, etc so they can analyze the data or use it for marketing. ** Full Disclosure: I worked at Microsoft for 15 years as a Software Developer and was laid off well over a year ago when Microsoft decided to get rid of the entire Windows test organization that I worked in. There is also the issue of MS lying about the information they are collecting not being personally identifiable.

Q) I was able to preserve my default settings.
A) If you change the selection during the upgrade you can hit the default action is to reset them which is wrong. The default action should be to leave them alone and MICROSOFT knows this! If you click next you fly by it.
Q) Would you make videos like this if you still work for Microsoft?
A) No, Microsoft has a strict policy preventing any employee from speaking out against the company or any of their policies publicly while you're working for them. A simple social media post can get you fired. While working there they saw one of my private Facebook posts complaining about Xbox Live customer support and I got talked to by my skip level manager and told I had to delete it and if I posted negative stuff again I would be terminated.
Q) Has MICROSOFT talked to you about these videos?
A) They used to engage me on social media but they were told to ignore me claiming I was just a minor annoyance.
Q) Aren't you scared of MICROSOFT suing you?
A) MICROSOFT can't sue me for having an opinion, and honestly if they did sue me then I would be all over the media and my videos would go super viral and it would be really bad for them. It's easier for them to just ignore me since right now only a small fraction of their users see my videos where as a law suit would expose me to their entire user base over night.
Q) Why do you hate MICROSOFT so much?
A) I don't hate Microsoft, I actually like the software that they produce and loved the company for most of my career. What I don't like is the companies policies that pretend to care about privacy and customer trust when they are doing everything to damage it. Microsoft used to condemn other companies for what it actively is doing under Satya's command. I honestly would love to see MICROSOFT return to trustworthy computing and putting the customer first and focusing on their strengths instead of copying the competition and being even dirtier in their tactics. I might dreaming thinking I can make a difference but with you and everyone else reading this our voices can be heard. Microsoft can only screw people if they can't see them doing it. When it becomes hugely public they will play it off as a 'big' claiming they didn't mean to do it and fix it. But, results are results.

1) "some settings are managed by your organization" is displayed because Spybot Beacon changes some group policy settings. I didn't realize this while shooting the video but it makes sense.
2) If you notice Skype Group Chats stop working open up the HOSTS file and remove all of the entries containing MSN. I've had one report of this fixing the problem.

Q) I like Cortana so I don't want to disable that feature.
A) That is fine, but just realized that Microsoft intentionally made Cortana dependent on the cloud meaning you have to give up your information, searches, contacts, calendar entries, etc to use her. You can't pick and chose what gets sent to Microsoft and still use the feature. It's all or nothing and I think this sends a bad message from Microsoft on what they are actually doing with that data. #TinfoilHat
Q) Why do you hate Microsoft so much?
A) I don't hate Microsoft, I worked there for 15 years as a Senior Software Developer. Windows is still my preferred platform that I use daily. What I don't like is the direction Microsoft is taking with regards to advertisement and marketing being the focus over the core operating system and innovation.
Q) You should just run Linux!
A) I like Linux but it's not in any position to be a replacement for an operating system like Windows. There is no Adobe support on Linux and it's not ideal for mainstream content creators and software developers. But who knows what the future holds if Microsoft keeps going down this dark street.
Q) What is telemetry?
A) It's Microsoft collecting data on your computer, what you search for, usage patterns, application usage, etc so they can analyze the data or use it for marketing.

Q) I was able to preserve my default settings.
A) If you change the selection during the upgrade you can hit the default action is to reset them which is wrong. The default action should be to leave them alone and MICROSOFT knows this! If you click next you fly by it.
Q) Would you make videos like this if you still work for Microsoft?
A) No, Microsoft has a strict policy preventing any employee from speaking out against the company or any of their policies publicly while you're working for them. A simple social media post can get you fired. While working there they saw one of my private Facebook posts complaining about Xbox Live customer support and I got talked to by my skip level manager and told I had to delete it and if I posted negative stuff again I would be terminated.
Q) Has MICROSOFT talked to you about these videos?
A) They used to engage me on social media but they were told to ignore me claiming I was just a minor annoyance.
Q) Aren't you scared of MICROSOFT suing you?
A) MICROSOFT can't sue me for having an opinion, and honestly if they did sue me then I would be all over the media and my videos would go super viral and it would be really bad for them. It's easier for them to just ignore me since right now only a small fraction of their users see my videos where as a law suit would expose me to their entire user base over night.
Q) Why do you hate MICROSOFT so much?
A) I don't hate Microsoft, I actually like the software that they produce and loved the company for most of my career. What I don't like is the companies policies that pretend to care about privacy and customer trust when they are doing everything to damage it. Microsoft used to condemn other companies for what it actively is doing under Satya's command. I honestly would love to see MICROSOFT return to trustworthy computing and putting the customer first and focusing on their strengths instead of copying the competition and being even dirtier in their tactics. I might dreaming thinking I can make a difference but with you and everyone else reading this our voices can be heard. Microsoft can only screw people if they can't see them doing it. When it becomes hugely public they will play it off as a 'big' claiming they didn't mean to do it and fix it. But, results are results.

1) "some settings are managed by your organization" is displayed because Spybot Beacon changes some group policy settings. I didn't realize this while shooting the video but it makes sense.
2) If you notice Skype Group Chats stop working open up the HOSTS file and remove all of the entries containing MSN. I've had one report of this fixing the problem.

Q) I like Cortana so I don't want to disable that feature.
A) That is fine, but just realized that Microsoft intentionally made Cortana dependent on the cloud meaning you have to give up your information, searches, contacts, calendar entries, etc to use her. You can't pick and chose what gets sent to Microsoft and still use the feature. It's all or nothing and I think this sends a bad message from Microsoft on what they are actually doing with that data. #TinfoilHat
Q) Why do you hate Microsoft so much?
A) I don't hate Microsoft, I worked there for 15 years as a Senior Software Developer. Windows is still my preferred platform that I use daily. What I don't like is the direction Microsoft is taking with regards to advertisement and marketing being the focus over the core operating system and innovation.
Q) You should just run Linux!
A) I like Linux but it's not in any position to be a replacement for an operating system like Windows. There is no Adobe support on Linux and it's not ideal for mainstream content creators and software developers. But who knows what the future holds if Microsoft keeps going down this dark street.
Q) What is telemetry?
A) It's Microsoft collecting data on your computer, what you search for, usage patterns, application usage, etc so they can analyze the data or use it for marketing.

El Windows 10, se ha presentado como la última gran apuesta de Microsoft, Potente, “gratuita” y mejorada, pero detrás de esta suerte de virtudes, parece que hay una serie de extrañas características que son muy oscuras, esas características “peligrosas” las vamos a encontrar en su motor de Inteligencia Artificial llamado Cortana y de su sistema de guardar todo lo que tecleamos entre otras cuestiones que de curiosas pasan a ser sospechosas.
