He might have hung up his cleats, but Canberra Cavalry pitcher Brian Grening can't stop winning in the Australian Baseball League.
The ABL announced Grening as their pitcher of the 2017-18 season on Wednesday - almost exactly two months after he announced his retirement from professional baseball.

Grening went out on a high, pitching the Cavalry to a game one victory over the Brisbane Bandits in the ABL championship series - although the Bandits went on to claim the Claxton Shield with wins in games two and three.
The 32-year-old played 87 games for the Cavalry across seven ABL seasons and was part of the 2012-13 Claxton Shield winning team as well as the historic Asia Series champions in 2013.
He finished with an earned-run average of just 3.65 and his 376 strikeouts is the most in ABL history.
The news comes as the Cavalry prepare to announce new owners this week.
