A citizen's arrest has stopped a "drunk and angry" man from fleeing the scene after he allegedly crashed his girlfriend's car near Mandurah overnight.
The incident took place on Monday evening, and police say the man had been driving on a new section of road when he crashed into a roadworks line-marking machine.
He totalled the machine - and his girlfriend's car - before he was apprehended by a member of the public.
When Mandurah police arrived, the man was charged with driving under the influence.
Driving intoxicated in a bad mood and crashing your girlfriend's car into the roadworks line marking machine is a recipe for disaster. Sweet graphics... NOT. #girlfriendwontbehappy. Apprehended by a concerned citizen and arrested by #TEG1PEEL and @MandurahPol pic.twitter.com/iCibg0nB8W
