Delegates from the countries attending the ninth meeting of the Negotiating Committee on Principle 10 of the Rio Declaration approved the final text in Costa Rica.
Trinidad and Tobago’s transition to a more environmentally-conscious society, in keeping with the terms of the Paris agreement on climate change, is estimated to cost US$2 billion if the country is to reach its target of cutting carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 15 per cent — or 103 million tonnes — from what it is today, cumulatively, by 2030.
The study also sought to interrogate the relationship between illicit drugs and armed violence to determine the extent to which illicit drugs contribute to armed violence against women.
Young people are crucial in shaping the 2030 agenda, in tackling 21st century challenges, steering action and transforming change in their communities.
Over 2015 to 2017 with funding from Aus Aid and in partnership with the GEF Small Grants Programme at UNDP, the Digicel Foundation embarked on a capacity building and infrastructural upgrade programme called “Preparing You!- A Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Evacuation Pilot Project for persons with special needs” .
