#VUvaledictorian Brodie Marshall is celebrating her graduation from Bachelor of Nursing! While studying, Brodie participated in New Colombo Plan on a scholarship that allowed her to visit the Philippines where she attended classes, applied practical work and created a demonstration video for basic life support to share with the rural community.
This unique opportunity reinforced Brodie’s drive to apply her practical skills to the health industry – and next year she’ll begin her first shift as a graduate nurse with Western Health. Congratulations, Brodie!

#VUvaledictorian Jack Feehan is celebrating completing his Master of Health Science (Osteopathy)! In his time at VU, Jack was taught by both academics and practicing professionals and he credits this combination for ensuring he learnt relevant skills that could be applied in modern osteopathic clinics.
Now, he’ll be putting those skills into practice at St Kilda Osteopathy as he works part time to accommodate his research. Congratulations, Jack!

#VUvaledictorian Holly Greyhart is celebrating the completion of her Bachelor of Education today! Hooked in by her very first lecturer, Amanda Muscat, Holly says she was shaped and inspired by the knowledge and passion of her teacher.
As a participant in the SWiRL (Story Writing in Remote Locations program), Holly spent time studying in rural India, where she expanded her knowledge of the impact culture has on learning and teaching. “The vast difference for students in third world countries makes you appreciate the resources we have in Australia and how much there is a need to share that.”

Congratulations to The Hon Steve Bracks AC, the former Premier of Victoria who has been awarded an honorary degree by VU. We’re proud to honour Steve Bracks for his distinguished service to Victoria and Melbourne’s west, and for his continuing advice and support for Victoria University.
#VUvaledictorian Francis Killackey left behind his successful career as a chartered accountant to pursue a Bachelor of Laws – and today he’s graduating as valedictorian of the College of Law and Justice!
Jumping right into the VU’s Workplace Integrated Learning opportunities, Francis gained practical experience at the Sunshine Magistrates Court, Victoria Legal Aid, WEst Justice and the Supreme Court of Victoria. Earning himself a role in the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) Graduate Program, Francis is thrilled to continue his education in the workplace. Congratulations, Francis!

#VUvaledictorian Timon Dooley is graduating today from the Bachelor of Business! Timon left high school in year 11 without an ATAR, and worked in a variety of industries before beginning his uni journey at VU at the age of 21. Unsure of where it would lead him, Timon committed to loading up his calendar to immerse himself in every opportunity his course offered so that he could find his passion.
Commuting from Bendigo for the first half of his degree and working full time for... the second half, Timon took advantage of night classes, winter school and study abroad options. But it wasn’t until he participated in the VU Career Mentoring Program that Timon met his NAB mentor who inspired his interest in banking and finance. This spark turned into a flame and Timon’s perseverance and ambition have resulted in his incredible success academically and professionally.
With an offer in the NAB Graduate Program awaiting him in 2018, Timon’s hard work has paid off. Congratulations Timon! 👏
