Victoria University (VU) offers a range of scholarships for undergraduate students. We know how important it is to have financial security while you're studying. Our scholarships can help take the pressure off.

You need to be enrolled in an undergraduate degree, honours program or Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education to be eligible for these scholarships.

Academic achievement

VU Achievement scholarships

Study level: TAFE, undergraduate
Study area: all
Eligibility: high school students, academic achievement based on internal school assessments
Value: $5000 each year for up to four years (maximum of $20,000 for first scholarship) or $2000 each year for up to two years (maximum of $4,000 for second scholarship)

Chancellor's scholarships

Study level: undergraduate
Study area: all
Eligibility: high school students who achieve an ATAR of 90.00 or above
Value: $5000 each year for up to four years (maximum of $20,000)
How to apply: to apply for the Chancellor's Scholars Program apply for a course through VTAC. Students who have listed VU on their course preference list and meet the eligibility criteria will be assessed by the University.

Early Uni Pathways (EUP) scholarships

Study level: undergraduate
Study area: all
Eligibility: high school students from a participating EUP school who successfully completed one EUP higher education unit
Value: $5000 per year for the duration of the course (up to a maximum of four years)

George Alexander Foundation Leadership Scholarship

Study level: undergraduate
Study area: all
Eligibility: commencing students aged 18-25, ATAR of 75.00 and above, leadership potential
Value: $7500 per year over 3 years (total of $22,500)

New Colombo Plan Scholarship

Study level: undergraduate
Study area: all (students must be able to undertake one or two semesters of overseas study)
Eligibility: be an Australian citizen and enrolled in a bachelor or honours degree at VU, be between 18-28 years of age when commencing the scholarship, have a minimum 70% grade average, and be nominated through Victoria University
Value: $50,000+

VU Achievement scholars receive up to $20,000.

Borzillo Family Engineering Scholarship

Study level: end of first year/beginning of second year
Study area: Engineering
Eligibility: female engineering students from a migrant background who are about to enter their second year of their Engineering degree
Value: $20,000 over three years of study

Indigenous Commonwealth scholarships

Study level: all
Study area: all
Eligibility: high school students, current students, mature-age students, Indigenous background
Value: scholarship values vary slightly each year

Pappas Family Scholarship for students of Greek heritage

Study level: undergraduate

Eligibility: students of Greek descent studying an undergraduate degree
Value: $5000 for the first year of study

Soroptimist Indigenous Scholarship for Women

Eligibility: female students of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent
Value: $3000 per year awarded for the degree(s) duration up to a maximum of 2 years

Study area: all
Eligibility: non-school leavers; academic or community-service excellence; financial hardship considered
Value: up to $10,000

Eligibility: current students, demonstrated commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community

Kirner Kosky scholarships

Eligibility: current students, women, demonstrated past barriers and challenges to complete primary or secondary education
Value: $5000 per year up to a maximum of five years ($25,000), plus mentoring from a female community leader

Eligibility: high school students, demonstrated financial hardship, must have received a Western Chances scholarship at secondary school
