    the apple trees traditionally occurs on Old Twelfth Night, 17th Jan. The Queen of the Wassail (‘good health’) awakens the oldest trees in the orchards with cider-soaked bread. The crowd then bangs pots to drive out evil spirits & ensure a good crop.

    My rural parish church, consecrated on 18 June, 1815 - the day of the Battle of Waterloo - sports lances used on the field that historic day. We are spoiled for heritage 🇬🇧

    Unfortunately there were no wrongdoers on hand to make an example out of, but I’ll be working with to rectify that situation soon!

    Well, we do. He's emulating rough music, an old tradition of making a massive public ruckus with pots and pans, dragging local wrongdoers out of their homes and parading them about.

    Fun Fact: Many of our jelly moulds were used to make brawn, a type of jelly mainly made from pig and calf heads, rather than fun jelly.
