Our special admissions programs may help you get into your chosen course, so that you can reach your true potential.
Apply for special admission
If you have applied for a course through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC), you can apply for consideration of your circumstances through VTAC's Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS).

If you have applied for a course directly to Victoria University (VU), you can apply for consideration of your circumstances using our direct admission special consideration application.
Submit your application, along with any supporting documentation, when you apply for your course.
Special admission categories
Recognition as an Indigenous Australian
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students can talk to Moondanu Balluk staff about course options, and the range of support services and pastoral care available.

Admission into a course will be based on an assessment of your capacity to successfully complete the course.
Living in rural or isolated areas
For applicants whose school or home location has adversely affected their preparation for post-secondary study.
Rural or isolated areas are determined based on the Australian Standard Geographical Classification (ASGC) Remoteness Areas classification.
Men & women in under-represented disciplines
For applicants who are applying for a course in fields of study recognised as underrepresented by their gender. View our list of eligible courses for men and women in under-represented disciplines.
Non-English speaking background
For applicants whose non-English speaking background has adversely affected their preparation for post-secondary study.
Difficult living circumstances
If difficult living circumstances have impacted your preparation for post-secondary study, you may be considered under this category. Circumstances include, but are not limited to:
- long term illness of a relative
- constant relocation
- excessive family responsibility
- abusive living environment
- homelessness
- natural disaster.
Disadvantaged financial background
Your education may have been affected by difficult financial circumstances, where you were dependant on Centrelink or a Family Tax Benefit for support.
Disability or medical condition
Your education may have been affected by your disability or medical condition.

First in family
Students coming from families where no one has attended University studies before them are called first in family or first generation students.
Current year 12 students
Our Early Entry Offer Program (EEOP) is an alternative entry program for current year 12 students. EEO is about recognising you as an individual, not as a number.
