A Bachelor of Arts (BA, B.A., AB or A.B. from the Latin artium baccalaureus or baccalaureus artium) is a bachelor's degree awarded for an undergraduate course or program in either the liberal arts, the sciences, or both. Bachelor of Arts degree programs generally take three to four years depending on the country, academic institution, and specific specializations, majors or minors. The word baccalaureus or baccalarium (from the Latin bacca, a berry, and laureus, "of the bay laurel") should not be confused with baccalaureatus (translatable as "gold-plated scepter" by using the Latin baculum and aureatus), which refers to the one- to two-year postgraduate Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree (Baccalaureatus in Artibus Cum Honore) in some countries.
Diplomas generally give the name of the institution, signatures of officials of the institution (generally the president or rector of the university as well as the secretary or dean of the component college), the type of degree conferred, the conferring authority and the location at which the degree is conferred. Degree diplomas generally are printed on high quality paper or parchment; individual institutions set the preferred abbreviation for their degrees.

The Bachelor of Arts (1937) is a novel written by R. K. Narayan. It is the second book of a trilogy that begins with Swami and Friends and ends with The English Teacher. It is again set in Malgudi, the fictional town Narayan invented for his novels.
The story describes the complex transition of an adolescent mind into adulthood and the heartbreak which a youth faces. It revolves around a young man named Chandran, who resembles an Indian upper middle class youth of the pre-independence era. First, Chandran's college life in late colonial times is described. After graduation, he falls in love with a girl, but will be rejected by the bride's parents, since his horoscope describes him as a manglik, a condition in which a manglik can only marry another manglik and if not, the non-manglik will die. Malti, the girl with whom Chandran falls in love after graduating from college, is then married to someone else.
Chandran is absolutely heartbroken to the extent that he goes to Madras and starts living on streets. Famished, delusioned and full of self-pity, he ends up wandering from one place to another. Also frustrated and desperate, he then embarks on a journey as Sanyasi. On his journey he meets many people and he is also misunderstood as a great sage by some villagers. After 8 months, he thinks of what mess he has become and thinks about his parents. Due to the compunctions and the realizations, he decides to return home. He takes up a job as a newsagent and decides to marry, in order to please his parents, thinking of the discomfort he had caused them earlier.
Intro:
He's the bachelor of hearts
Don't even start
He's got a degree
In being a single man
And breaking hearts is his only plan
He's out everyday
Searching for his prey
Chasing anyone that passes his way
If you know like me
You will be
On your best behavior
Because he is a player
He can sense insecurity a mile away
Like a shark and it's prey
When he zeros in
You'll think a hero's in the room
Then he's gone real soon
He knows no love
Only lust
He knows no fidelity
Only mistrust
He's always smiling and winking
Laughing and blinking
Girl what are you thinking
Chorus:
Bachelor of hearts
Don't even start
His pedigree
Is of a Labrador Retriever
He'll pick up any bird
Then leave her
He's got a degree in misogyny
That's not a catch
There is a catch
Verse 2:
Stop going in the wrong direction
Every woman you meet
You add to your collection
You play with emotions
Like it's a notion
Broken hearts
Like sands to the ocean
You give good men a bad name
Playing this game
You have the potential to be a good man
I don't understand
Why do you feel the necessity to act this way
What a game you play
Repeat Chorus
Rap:
The bachelor of hearts
Always playing his part
Always at the party
Looking fool hardy
Always at the club
Looking for love
Be real for a change
Stop playing games
Do you even remember their names?
Or have you lost count
At the sheer amount
You'll flirt with anything in a skirt
It doesn't matter who ends up getting hurt
Then he set his sights on me
Thinking I would fall for that easily
But you're out of your league
And I think you should know it
You're out of your league
And you just don't know it
If you don't want to reap it
Then don't sow it
