Social Code (formerly known as Fifth Season) was a Canadian alternative rock group formed in 1999 in St. Albert.
The band was formed in 1999 by high school friends Travis Nesbitt (lead vocals) and Logan Jacobs (bass), under the name Fifth Season. Later on, David Hesse joined as a guitarist, and Ben Shillabeer as a drummer.
The band's first album, Patiently Waiting was released in 2001. After the release of the album, the band decided to change its name upon finding a popular band under the same name overseas, and so they came up with the new name Social Code.
The band then landed a record deal with Interscope at the end of 2003, where they released their major label debut, A Year at the Movies In May 2004. The band went on to do opening shows with such bands as Rise Against, Fall Out Boy, Deftones and Good Charlotte among others.
In 2007 the St. Albert foursome took on the task of creating a new record on their own. Social Code's previous experience working with high-profile producers, such as Howard Benson (The All-American Rejects, Hawthorne Heights, My Chemical Romance) in Los Angeles gave the band the experience and confidence to go it alone. They gutted the basement of Jacobs' house, built a studio and spent the next year working on their second album called Social-Code that was released in May 2007, in Canada. The album was proven successful in Canada, and spawned the successful singles "Bomb Hands", "The Shortest Line", "Everyday (Late November)" and "He Said, She Said". Supporting the album, the band toured with Sum 41 and Finger Eleven on their Strength In Numbers Tour.
I'll may refer to
The term social refers to a characteristic of living organisms as applied to populations of humans and other animals. It always refers to the interaction of organisms with other organisms and to their collective co-existence, irrespective of whether they are aware of it or not, and irrespective of whether the interaction is voluntary or involuntary.
The word "Social" derives from the Latin word socii ("allies"). It is particularly derived from the Italian Socii states, historical allies of the Roman Republic (although they rebelled against Rome in the Social War of 91-88 BC).
In the absence of agreement about its meaning, the term "social" is used in many different senses and regarded as a fuzzy concept, referring among other things to:
Attitudes, orientations, or behaviors which take the interests, intentions, or needs of other people into account (in contrast to anti-social behaviour) has played some role in defining the idea or the principle. For instance terms like social realism, social justice, social constructivism, social psychology, social anarchism and social capital imply that there is some social process involved or considered, a process that is not there in regular, "non-social" realism, justice, constructivism, psychology, anarchism, or capital.
In communications and information processing, code is a system of rules to convert information—such as a letter, word, sound, image, or gesture—into another form or representation, sometimes shortened or secret, for communication through a channel or storage in a medium. An early example is the invention of language, which enabled a person, through speech, to communicate what he or she saw, heard, felt, or thought to others. But speech limits the range of communication to the distance a voice can carry, and limits the audience to those present when the speech is uttered. The invention of writing, which converted spoken language into visual symbols, extended the range of communication across space and time.
The process of encoding converts information from a source into symbols for communication or storage. Decoding is the reverse process, converting code symbols back into a form that the recipient understands.
One reason for coding is to enable communication in places where ordinary plain language, spoken or written, is difficult or impossible. For example, semaphore, where the configuration of flags held by a signaller or the arms of a semaphore tower encodes parts of the message, typically individual letters and numbers. Another person standing a great distance away can interpret the flags and reproduce the words sent.

I don't want to love you, hold you, I don't want to know what you're about. I don't need your name, or number. Just want to get in and get out. She's a loaded gun, With her sights on me, There's no mystery. She's a Jezzabell. And it's plain to see, She'll go easily. I don't want to give in, I know I'm going to. She whispered in my ear, She said, she said, she said, I don't want to love you, hold you, I don't want to know what you're about. I don't need your name, or number. Just want to get in and get out. I'm only in this baby, Just for tonight. But I promise that I'll leave you, I'll leave you satisfied. She's played this game before, I know I'm not the only one, That she's hit and run. And I'm a casualty, Of that loaded gun, She'll shoot anyone. ...
Another One... I know that's nothing special, I was just bored cuz nobody was talking with me.

Social Code http://www.codemesh.io/codemesh2014/garrett-smith Have you ever read someone's code and exclaimed, "What in tarnation? What is going on here? What was this person on? I hate my job!" Be honest, was that other person ever you, maybe once? Code is no longer merely a technical problem - it's also social. We write code for others. We write code for ourselves. We use computer languages to express our ideas and our intentions. What we leave behind is a social artifact that either respectful, or, as is often the case, careless and sometimes outright rude. In this talk Garrett will outline a standard for writing social code - that is, code that is that is readable, maintainable and that obviously reflects the intent of its author. He'll use a simple refactoring exercise to translate ...
On the 10th of December 2013, UM Greece launched WAVE 7 to the Greek market. Wave, the first social media study on a global scale, has tracked the dynamic shifts that have taken place within the social media landscape for the last seven years. As part of this year's survey, the importance of the human need to connect combined with the proliferation of smartphones reveals compelling insights into consumer behavior. These insights offer brand marketers an opportunity to create customized media strategies that speak to consumers locally at the global level. According to Wave 7, Relationship, Diversion, Learning, Progression, and Recognition are the five key needs underpinning all consumer interaction. These five motivations continue to fuel the world's prolific use of social media. Wave 7 ...

I started freelance web development immediately after coding bootcamp at Tech Talent South. I intend to share more of my experience in future videos but I thought it would be more fun and interesting to hear the experience of another bootcamp alum, Eric. Eric and I were in the same cohort in Tech Talent South's Code Immersion (full-time) program. We chose the freelance route as our colleagues applied for jobs when we graduated in March. Questions I ask Eric: Did you always know you were going to freelance? Who was your first client and what was the project experience? What’s the biggest challenge of freelancing? What’s your favorite thing about freelancing? How do you get clients? Do you have any advice for those interested in freelancing? Thanks for watching! ------------------...
While many tech sites like to test their candidates with tricky riddles and brain teasers, Facebook opts for a more thoughtful approach to finding the best people for the job. Here's a look at the favorite interview question of some of the heads of recruiting for the social network. Produced by Chris Snyder. Original reporting by Richard Feloni. Love come, down upon us
Till you flow like water
Burning with the hope of insight
Feathered, look they're covered
With a bright elation
Stolen in the sight of love
We are, we are, we are all just children
Finding our way around in decision
We are, we are, we are rather helpless
Take us forever a whisper to a
Birds fly
In the eye of the faithless daughter
Broken at the bitter end
Wasted, sacrifice for a new nirvana
Right time send us on our way
We are, we are, we are all just children
Finding our way around in decision
We are, we are, we are rather helpless
Take us forever a whisper to a scream
