How to use Twitter for Windows Phone 8
Where to get the Twitter for Windows Phone app:
You can download the app from the Windows Marketplace. Here's how:
- Search for Twitter in the Windows Marketplace or text yourself a link to download.
- Download and install the app on your device.
How to sign up or sign in to Twitter on a Windows Phone 8
Create a new account
- Launch the Twitter app from your phone and tap on the Sign up icon to create a Twitter account.
- Choose and enter your username and password.
Sign in to an existing Twitter account
- Launch the app and tap on Sign in.
- Enter your username and password.
Add another account
- Tap the more icon
- Tap Settings, where you'll have the option to add another account.
- Add as many accounts as you'd like!
How to post a Tweet
- Tap on the Tweet compose icon
- Type your message into the Tweet compose box.
- Tap Tweet to post your Tweet.
How to attach a photo to a Tweet
- Tap on the Tweet compose icon
- Tap on the camera icon to take a photo, or the gallery icon to add a photo from your camera roll. You can add up to four images to your Tweets.
- Type your message into the Tweet compose box.
- Tap Tweet to post your Tweet.
How to tag people in photos
- Tap on the Tweet compose icon
- Tap on the camera icon to take a photo, or the gallery icon to add a photo from your camera roll.
- Tap Who’s in this photo?
- Enter the usernames of up to 10 people you want to tag in the photo.
- Tap the checkmark icon to confirm.
- Type your message into the Tweet compose box.
- Tap Tweet to post your Tweet.
How to delete a Tweet
- Tap on the Tweet that you want to delete.
- Tap on the trash icon and then tap yes to confirm. The Tweet will be deleted.
How to send a Direct Message
- Tap the person icon to go to your profile page.
- Tap the envelope icon to go to Direct Messages.
- Tap the plus icon to create a new Message.
- Type in the username of the person you'd like to send the Direct Message to. (Note: The user must follow you in order for you to send them a Message.)
- Compose your Direct Message.
- Tap the Tweet icon to send the Message.
How to add photos to a Direct Message
- Tap the person icon to go to your profile page.
- Tap the envelope icon to go to Direct Messages.
- Tap the plus icon to create a new Message.
- Type in the username of the person you'd like to send the Direct Message to. (Note: The user must follow you in order for you to send them a Message.)
- Tap on the the gallery icon to add a photo from your camera roll.
- Compose your Direct Message.
- Tap the Tweet icon to send the Message.
How to change your profile information
- Tap the person icon to go to your profile page
- Tap more then tap edit profile.
- Make your changes and tap the save icon to save them.
How to sign out
- Tap the more icon and select settings from the menu that pops up.
- Press and hold the account you’d like to sign out from, and select remove when it appears.
- Tap yes to confirm you would like to sign out. Signing out will remove your Twitter data from the device.
