Where to get the app

You can download the Twitter for Windows app from the Windows Marketplace.

 

How to sign up or log in with the application

To create a new account:

  1. Launch the Twitter app from your device.
  2. Tap the Sign up button to create a Twitter account.
  3. Choose and enter your username, email, and password.

 

To log in to an existing Twitter account:

  1. Launch the app and tap Log in.
  2. Enter your username and password.

 

How to post and delete Tweets and Direct Messages

To post a Tweet:

  1. Tap the Tweet icon. 
  2. Type your message in the Tweet box.
  3. Tap the location icon to add a location (optional).
  4. Tap Tweet to post your Tweet.

 

To attach a photo, GIF, or video to a Tweet:

  1. Tap the Tweet icon. 
  2. Tap on the photo icon to add a photo, GIF, or video from your camera roll. You can add up to four images to your Tweets.
  3. Type your message in the Tweet box.
  4. Tap Tweet to post your Tweet.

 

To delete a Tweet:

  1. Tap on the Tweet that you'd like to delete.
  2. Tap the  icon 
  3. Tap Delete.

 

To send a Direct Message:

  1. Tap on the envelope icon. 
  2. Tap the new message icon to begin composing your Direct Message.
  3. Type in the username of the person you’d like to send the message to.
  4. Tap Send to send the message.

 

To add a photo to a Direct Message:

  1. Tap on the envelope icon.  
  2. Tap the new message icon to begin composing your Direct Message.
  3. Type in the username of the person you’d like to send the Direct Message to.
  4. Tap on the photo icon to add a photo
  5. Tap Send to send the message.

 

How to change your profile information

  1. Tap the profile icon to navigate to your profile page.
  2. Tap the Settings icon.
  3. Make your changes, and tap Save.

 

How to add multiple accounts

  1. Tap the profile icon to navigate to your profile page.
  2. Tap the Accounts icon.
  3. Tap Add account.

 

How to switch between multiple accounts

  1. Tap the profile icon to navigate to your profile page.
  2. Tap the Accounts icon.
  3. Tap the account you wish to switch to.

 

How to search for Tweets and people

  1. Tap the search icon. 
  2. Enter a word or username into the search bar.
  3. Press Enter to search.

 

Find friends by uploading your contacts

  1. Tap on the Find People icon. 
  2. Tap Contacts.
  3. Tap the People Hub icon.
  4. People who are already on Twitter will be shown. Follow individuals by tapping the follow icon. 

 

Liking, Retweeting and quote Tweet

To like a Tweet:

  1. Click or tap the like icon  and it will turn red, confirming that you've liked the Tweet.
  2. You can also like a Tweet from a profile page and a Tweet's permalink page.

 

To undo or remove a like:

  1. Find the Tweet you liked (the heart will be red).
  2. Click or tap the like icon to undo the like.

 

To Retweet a Tweet:

  1. Click or tap the Retweet icon 
  2. Tap Retweet.
  3. The icon will turn green, confirming that you've Retweeted the Tweet.
  4. You can also Retweet a Tweet from a profile page, and a Tweet's permalink page.

 

To undo or remove a Retweet:

  1. Find the Tweet you Retweeted (the icon will be green).
  2. Click or tap the Retweet icon to undo the Retweet.

 

To quote a Tweet:

  1. Click or tap the Retweet icon. 
  2. Tap Quote Tweet.
  3. Enter your comments and press Retweet.
  4. The icon will turn green, confirming that you've Retweeted the Tweet.
  5. You can also Retweet a Tweet from a profile page and a Tweet's permalink page.

 

How to sign out

  1. Tap your profile icon.
  2. Tap the Settings button.
  3. Tap Log out
