About 8 media organizations covered this press conference-- most of them local. One student said the school's black students are not being represented. She peered into the news cameras and said, "Well here we are. Do you see us?"

This is only going to increase the amount of black school kids avoiding school . You know why ? Because feeling intimidated/harassed by the opressor creates animosity therefore anxiety.
-
Maybe if the media wasn't feeding them lies, they wouldn't feel threatened. You can't just assume cops are gonna shoot you because you're black. Especially if you're unarmed
-
But your not black, therefore you don’t have black life experiences.. therefore you should tell us what makes us feel threatened silly boy
-
Well I'm more likely to be killed by a cop than you are, statistically. But I'm not worried about it because I don't break the law, silly girl.
-
Nowadays I feel like black is a crime. even when we do follow the law we still out shot down. My perspective and yours are 2 completely different things, Silly boy.

And we all know he's right. When you are only 11% of any number, as a POC, you often want to fade in just enough to get through unscathed. This will only shine an unwanted, unfair, uncomfortable spotlight in another place that is hard enough to make it through.

People need to make up their minds: Do they want increased police protection or not? Do they want them to stay away till someone cries for help & by then it may be too late? You have to see how this looks. "I'm afraid of police violence." then "Help! Call 911!" It can't be both.
-
Maybe when we stop getting gunned down when we call the police we may change our minds. The second we don't call the police then every white person in sight wants to say how we have something to hide and we are breaking the law. Can't win for losing!

Kai needs to stop acting like a victim and start acting like a man. Stand up, make smart decisions, and accept responsibility for your actions.
