Artist who made meme-able Ronaldo bust finds redemption in a do-over

One year ago, a cartoonish statue of Cristiano Ronaldo became the butt of countless jokes. But there was a human element behind the scenes that went unexamined — until now. Bleacher Report visited with the sculptor, Emanuel Santos, and discovered the turmoil that came with the criticism of his first-ever bust. Then they gave him a chance to redeem himself.

Have to commend for this excellent piece of journalism. When the bust was released, many slated it and it went viral, but we tend to forget there was an honest man trying to do good work and make a living through it. This is brilliant and his second bust is excellent.

I love this story. Anyone in the art or design world can relate to putting yourself out there and dealing with the criticism that follows. People can be too strong with their judgements of other people's work when using social media. There is always someone on the other side.

We all made fun of a man who tried his best. I actually feel bad now, but it made him take on a challenge and better his talent and he showed the world he can. Great story. Great talent.

This shows you that everything has another side of a story. It’s easier to criticize without being there, understanding what the others are going thru. Before making any assumptions or conclusions, we should always hear all sides of the story. Congrats, Emanuel Santos.
