The Principal is a 1987 crime thriller action film starring James Belushi and Louis Gossett, Jr. It was written by Frank Deese and directed by Christopher Cain. It was filmed in Oakland, California and distributed by TriStar Pictures.
Rick Latimer (James Belushi) is a high-school teacher with a drinking problem. Spotting his ex-wife Kimberly (Sharon Thomas Cain) in a bar one night, Rick gets into a fight with the man she's with, culminating in his beating the hapless man's car with a baseball bat.
The board of education finds that Rick's behavior is reflecting poorly on the school district's image. They unanimously decide to transfer him to another school, in another district: Brandel High, a crime-ridden and gang-dominated institution, where he is made the new principal.
Believing he can repair his image by cleaning up the school, Rick attempts to have an assembly to declare his intentions: "No more." No more drugs, running in the hallways or being late to class. While he's giving his speech, Victor Duncan (Michael Wright), the leader of the main gang in the school, walks in, derides Rick in front of everyone, then walks out, which eventually results in a small riot, which earns Rick the enmity of not only the teachers but also school head of security Jake (Lou Gossett Jr.).
The Principal is an Australian four-part drama series which aired over two weeks on SBS starting 7 October 2015. It was written by Kristen Dunphy and Alice Addison, directed by Kriv Stenders and produced by Ian Collie.
Matt Bashir, history teacher and former Deputy at a prestigious girls' school, is promoted to the position of Principal of Boxdale Boys High in South West Sydney. Boxdale is a troubled school with a history of conflict and Matt is determined to turn it around, but his attempts at reform are met with scepticism and, in some quarters, hostility from his beleaguered colleagues. Just when it seems he is making progress, a 17-year-old student is found dead on school grounds.

Plot: A throwback to the days of classic John Hughes' films like "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and "The Breakfast Club," "The Powder Puff Principle" is a modern day high school comedy with a retro feel. It tells the story of a vindictive high school principal that lacks principle. When Principal Richard Skelter vengefully cuts the school's fine arts program, changes the school's logo, dissolves the student council, and then finally cancels the students' beloved Powder Puff football game at a pep rally out of spite! Someone (???) breaks into the school's gymnasium and paints a gigantic mural on the wall of the Principal dressed up as a cheerleader, bent over, his ass exposed, clutching onto a handful of green cash as he desperately tries to pick up an enormous copper penny. Soon after, a detective named Andy shows up to investigate the crime. As Andy uncovers the motives behind the prank, EVERYONE at the school becomes a suspect. When the investigation leads to an interrogation of the Principal himself, we go on a roller coaster ride of flashbacks that introduce us to all the usual suspects: the art teacher, the coach, and a host of colorful students.
