United Voices union members at the Orion recycling plant in east London walked off the job this morning in a historic and inspiring wildcat strike to protest against inhuman working conditions.

New Labour Bills in South Africa attack worker rights and democracy

In South Africa the Minister of Labour announced the state intends to carry out a new round of attacks on workers and their rights. The attacks come in the form of three Labour Bills currently being considered by parliament: the Basic Conditions of Employment Bill, the National Minimum Wage Bill and the Labour Relations Amendment Bill. If passed, the changes to the labour laws these bills propose will be a major attack on workers’ rights, won through decades of struggle, and will further deepen and entrench inequality and roll back important democratic gains.

Two-day strike at biggest Amazon warehouse in Spain

A 48-hour strike in the Amazon warehouse in San Fernando de Henares, near Madrid, concluded successfully, according to unions, with workers bringing the company's biggest logistics centre in the country to a standstill.

Evgeny was born on August 21, 1978. He lives in Yevpatoria, Crimea. He is a leftist activist with anarchist beliefs. On February 1, 2018, Karakashev was detained, and on February 2, 2018, arrested on suspicion of committing crimes under Part 1 of Art. 282 (the incitement of hatred and enmity) and Part 2 of Art. 205.2 (public calls for terrorism) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. He is in custody from February 2nd 2018.
