Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who manages TIS?

TIS has operated in Victoria since 1977 and its members work closely with the state's careers practitioners to promote further education as an option for secondary students when they leave school. There is also a TIS executive, which is made up of 5 members from the general committee and includes both the president and treasurer. Overseeing the running of TIS is the Management committee, which is made up of the Marketing/Student Recruitment managers from each university.

  • WHAT DO STUDENTS BRING TO A TIS EVENT?

Students should come prepared to take some notes about the presentation as well as have some thought about which institutions they would like to visit and perhaps any specific questions they would like to ask. This is a great opportunity for students to get prepared for the different courses they are looking to apply for and research what they may need to undertake regarding application.

  • WHO DO I CONTACT IF MY SCHOOL CAN’T ATTEND THE EVENT IN MY LOCAL AREA

If you can't attend the event in your local area, please use the Contact form for the TIS Executive Officer to contact you to discuss your options. You can also view our calendar for alternative dates that may suit your school.

  • I HAVEN’T HEARD OF TIS BEFORE BUT WOULD LIKE TO BE INVOLVED, HOW DO I DO THIS?

We would love as many students as possible to experience TIS events each year. If you are a Careers Adviser, please use the Contact Form to arrange an invitation to a TIS event that is convenient for your school to attend. If you are a parent or Year 12 student, please contact your Careers Adviser in the first instance regarding attendance at TIS.
