The Wheel of the Year:
Spring Equinox: A Time of Balance
It’s a time of hope and regeneration, but also a moment to stop and mourn for the losses of the winter. Spring is planting time, but before we plant we must prepare the ground.
Join me for an Equinox ritual that will help us to compost the pains and frustrations of the past seasons, and consider what we will plant in the spring.
Together, we can celebrate the Spring Equinox as part of a connected global ritual community. Includes a story for children, a guided trance journey, a seed blessing ceremony, and a recording you can watch at your convenience.
Help Earth Activist Training Bring the Tools & Skills of Permaculture to the Communities Who Need it Most!
If you believe in the wisdom of Permaculture to help heal the earth and bring communities together, please consider making a secure donation to the Earth Activist Training Mycelium fund!Earth Activist Training teaches permaculture, an ecological design system that includes powerful tools that can help us heal damaged land, rebuild communities, and create truly sustainable abundance. The communities that most need these tools are those who are on the front lines of environmental and social struggles. To share this knowledge, we need to train people who come from those communities. Earth Activist Training offers Diversity Scholarships to people of color who are working in environmental and food justice, as well as scholarships for differently-abled students. We also support and train activists of whatever race and background, those passionate people who lend their energies to create change, and so we offer work trade opportunities and scholarships to activists.
We need your support to offer our courses in permaculture design and social permaculture to people who will have a huge ripple effect. We have several courses coming up, and we hope to hit our goal in order to provide scholarships for these courses. None of us can do it all, but by donating, you become part of all the amazing projects our students are doing around the world.

City of Refuge picks up where The Fifth Sacred Thing left off- just a few weeks after Califia has successfully defeated the invading Stewards. As the Califians replant their garden streets and rebuild their beautiful city, they struggle to integrate the soldiers who have defected to the north. When a warship is discovered off the coast, the Califians realize that their peaceable society will never be truly safe until the Southlands are also free.
Bird’s grandmother, Maya, ancient storyteller, nears the end of her life. “Tell the story, sing the song,” she tells Bird. And then Madrone has a dream. ..
Build a city of refuge in the heartland of the enemy…
Together, Madrone and Bird head to Angel City to establish an enclave that can inspire the Southlanders to rise up and liberate themselves. They are joined by reformed soldier River and bitter former sex-slave Smokee who lead an Army of Liberation down through the Central valley, while pirate Isis and her lover Sara bring a ragtag navy down the coast.
City of Refuge follows the struggles, the sacrifices, and the victories of the peaceful warriors from Califa as they endeavor to construct a haven in the parched and war-torn Southlands. Can magic, healing and love overcome the violence of a cruel and despotic regime?
