New gif to send to unwanted dick pics

[–]RiverBoogie 834 points835 points  (64 children)

Saved it to my phone for this reason.

[–]MilkManMikey 99 points100 points  (54 children)

When you save it to your phone are you just saving the link?

[–]RiverBoogie 93 points94 points  (47 children)

No, this I saved as a gif.

[–]kaverth92 23 points24 points  (29 children)

How ? What reddit browser u use ?

[–]RiverBoogie 28 points29 points  (27 children)

The reddit app. There's three dots in the top right corner, hit that and press save.

[–]Reddit_Professional_ 16 points17 points  (22 children)

I use the Reddit app too but there's no save option when I click on the three dots

[–]homicidevictim 35 points36 points  (6 children)

I put it in full screen and then hold down on it until a little thing pops up for options to share

[–]Reddit_Professional_ 17 points18 points  (2 children)

That did it! My life is changed forever thank you /u/homicidevictim

[–]Jerry-_-Garcia 10 points11 points  (1 child)

The real /r/lifeprotip is always in the comments

[–]lucidsnsz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, or tap the forward arrow (the curvy pointing right arrow on the top right of the screen) while in full screen

[–]Vancetis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OMG you just changed my life dude ! Thanks !

[–]Mesquite_Thorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just taught me something useful... Thanks!

[–]throwwayaway692 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Also if you have an iPhone, you can screen record and trim down that video!

[–]seddattive 1 point2 points  (2 children)

hide and report are my only options, indeed no save

[–]Doctor_of_Recreation 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Press and hold on the gif in full screen.

[–]hellogoodhigh 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I only have hide or report

[–]Doctor_of_Recreation 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Press and hold on the gif in full screen.

[–]kaverth92 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Ok thanks. I use relay and when i click download/save it says cant save reddit hosted videos.

Will have to try reddit app

[–]lak47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reddit is fun golden platinum has this too. Download with the click of a button.

[–]Wishery_ 3 points4 points  (1 child)

[–]RiverBoogie 5 points6 points  (5 children)

Should I mention I'm on Android?

[–]im-pickle-riiicck 6 points7 points  (3 children)

iPhone here. Can do that also. Other person must have a windows phone.

[–]luncheonette 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also saved it to your phone for just this reason.

[–]JeanBaptisteEzOrg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you want dick pics? Cause that's how you get dick pics.

[–]jakes_tornado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a male, same ;)

[–]TheKeyboardKid 119 points120 points  (6 children)

You are the first person I have ever gilded. You popped my gilding cherry :)

[–]whitelotustile_inc 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Holy crap! Thanks for the gold! Just logged back on. Mega surprised! :D

[–]TheKeyboardKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! I love the thought of someone sending this to a member of my gender that thinks it’s appropriate to send pictures like that in just normal conversation. It blows my mind and sickens me at the same time. Every time I visit /r/CreepyPMs I just can’t handle it after 5 minutes.

[–]psion01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just don't send her a dick picture.

[–]Macismyname 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That explains why girls keep sending me pics of needles snapping.

[–]deek0146 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How often do you get those?

[–]pastanazgul 12 points13 points  (13 children)

Is...that a thing?

[–]Ahland3r 29 points30 points  (12 children)

Do you live under a rock?

[–]pastanazgul 42 points43 points  (11 children)

Kinda, I've been married for damn near 20 years. I mean I know it's thing to joke about on the internet but do guys actually send unsolicited dick pics?

[–]thegreatinsulto 47 points48 points  (1 child)

Ohhh man don't open your inbox for a while...

[–]pastanazgul 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I... didn't consider that. Thanks for the heads up.

[–]DedsecWatcher 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Mostly women but gay men do exist and they do not always care if you are gay or not

[–]auniqueusername77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. Guy and have gotten an unwanted pic. I think it's a numbers game and they think eventually someone will be into it.

[–]godofallcows 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's a sad part of society. /r/creepyPMs if you want to see how shitty it is for a lot of chicks on the internet.

[–]auniqueusername77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Oh, my sweet summer child".

[–]robikini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Yes some of them do. It is unpleasant. And sometimes difficult to know how to respond.

[–]hyper333active 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No ragrets!

[–]gruntbatch 5 points6 points  (4 children)

Vernazza

A town in in Italy.

Valdostana

An Italian breed of goat, originating in Valle d'Aosta.

Gematria

Sum the gematric values of the words involved:

Valle d'Aosta + Vernazza + Valdostana = 2004

Subract the total number of symbols (' + + =) in the equation above:

2004 - 4 = 2000

Divide the gematric number by the total number of proper nouns used to derive the number:

2000 / 3 = 666.666

Consider

666 is the devil's number. Goats are a symbol of the devil.

Conclusion

You are a goat.

[–]vernazzaInterested 2 points3 points  (3 children)

https://media.giphy.com/media/3cB7aOM6347PW/giphy.gif

If you show me you didn't bullshit on the gematrical value part, I'll gild you.

[–]gruntbatch 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Haha. Give to charity instead.

Valle d'Aosta + Vernazza + Valdostana

Scroll down to Calculator #2 on this page, and paste in the above. I have no idea if the site is bullshit or not, but judging by it's domain name I think they're serious.

[–]vernazzaInterested 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Well, I've been meaning to do that anyways.

Now done with a little extra on your behalf added! (It's Doctors Without Borders Austria, in case you're wondering)

[–]senasonline 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These kind of things cutting tree limbs are the most satisfying thing to use ever

[–]CrazedPatel 905 points906 points  (7 children)

[–]steven417 114 points115 points  (3 children)

Why did you make me think of thattt

[–]tactican 30 points31 points  (2 children)

That was the first thing I thought of.

[–]The_Ivliad 11 points12 points  (1 child)

When normal clippers just won't cut it.

[–]jamesual 54 points55 points  (19 children)

But how long does the battery last?

[–]Lafingriot 90 points91 points  (16 children)

I use a slightly smaller version at the orchard I manage at it lasts over 8 hours of hard use. The battery backpack weighs about 25lbs or so

[–]Thurnis_Hailey 50 points51 points  (1 child)

Ahh I didn’t realize there was a battery backpack attached this. I thought it was all just hand held.

[–]justnick84 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It's heavy enough without a battery. You wouldn't want to use it all day if the battery was in the hand.

[–]herbmaster47 12 points13 points  (5 children)

How about blade life? It looks high grade but can see it not lasting long if you did this for 8 hours a day.

I'm sure that includes some time for clean up, but still.

[–]Lafingriot 21 points22 points  (4 children)

The blade on my machine is 5 years old now and it’s still razor sharp. I sharpen it with a wet stone for min after a full day of use. That’s it

[–]s4tsum4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course it's razor sharp if you sharpen it after every use..

[–]herbmaster47 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That's amazing. Do you know what it's made of?

[–]icorrectotherpeople[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Long enough evil chuckle.. long enough

[–]southernmaga 282 points283 points  (23 children)

In the next 50 years there will be flying robotic monkeys with these for hands.

A handcranked version of something like this could have saved lives in field amputations back in the day.

[–]fukitol- 30 points31 points  (9 children)

[–]Phillip_Lombard 33 points34 points  (7 children)

No those are just clippers, he means one with a crank to add tension, so it would cut off limbs with ease

[–]darknecross 5 points6 points  (5 children)

I feel like you could generate more torque by forcing the end of those clippers than you could with a hand crank.

[–]JayHusker89 7 points8 points  (1 child)

That depends on the mechanical advantage gained by the gears of the crank. You could make the crank incredibly strong, but it would be massive and would require a lot of turns to fully cut the limb.

[–]Bren12310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s talking about one that you crank to keep the tension in.

[–]theconceiver 10 points11 points  (5 children)

I don't think bone would shear through the same way that wood does.

[–]BearlyIT 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Strong (healthy) bone has a tendency to crack and splinter, so you are definitely right. Some hunters use bypass loppers to cut through bones (ribs, leg, neck) when quartering large animals, though it leaves a few bone fragments behind.

[–]theconceiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the reason a saw is normally used for bone is that bone material can be removed bit by bit until the tool is through the bone, allowing for a clean cut and no large bits of debris. Also if you try to chop through bone it gets crushed and you could cause a splintering that travels way up the bone. Etc.

I wonder what kind of tool could have been an improvement on a back-and-forth woodsaw back during say the Civil War?

Maybe something more like a bandsaw, with a loop of sharp wire that can be run around and around and tightened at the same time by a powerful spring. Then it could operate by hand crank like OP suggests.

[–]I_Live_Again_ 2 points3 points  (1 child)

... and now I'm curious...

[–]BearlyIT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Added a post below

[–]Bears_vs_Wizards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not with that attitude it won’t

[–]GuruBushHippie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeeesh. Bone wouldn’t react like green wood, more like a dry branch...

[–]Redshirt_80 88 points89 points  (43 children)

Do want! Any info on pricing or where to purchase?

[–]WhyIsBertSoFat 47 points48 points  (31 children)

[–]e1ioan 123 points124 points  (19 children)

I feel like that is overpriced by about $1700 :-)

[–]WhyIsBertSoFat 38 points39 points  (1 child)

[–]Saint_Thomas_More 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the re-direct.

My mom loves gardening, but she also has arthritis, so this might be a great Mother’s Day present for her.

[–]caitto 26 points27 points  (6 children)

Look on Amazon for Powered Shers you can easily get them for $60+ or even hand held chainsaws that look similar.

[–]ACatNamedFrank 25 points26 points  (2 children)

Yeah, no where near the same thing. I looked at a set of Bosch battery powered secateurs, a charge is good for 500 cuts. I make 500 cuts in about half an hour.

These professional electrics go for 8 - 10 hours and cut wood over 2 inches.

[–]TimeZarg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's all about what you're using it for. The cheap stuff will work for everyday backyard stuff. I've got a pair of plug-in 'Alligator Loppers' (basically a small chainsaw with a gripping jaw to hold branches in place while it cuts) that do just fine for fallen branches and whatnot. The branches in the .gif are about the biggest it could go, I think.

For a day's hard work away from a power source, you gotta spend a little more dinero. Either that, or have swappable batteries and take a bunch of batteries with you.

[–]modsarevirgins 5 points6 points  (2 children)

unfortunately both wouldnt work for this because the mouth isn't big enough with powered shers and the chainsaw creates a mess and is noisy too.

[–]socsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Small electronic chainsaws are pretty damn quiet.

[–]Zangetsu045 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta be able to cut up bodies quietly

[–]justnick84 9 points10 points  (4 children)

I have 2 pairs for our tree nursery. Saved so much time and risk of hand injury. Worth every penny

[–]Flumptastic 8 points9 points  (3 children)

Nothing compares to felco. Civilians just don't understand lol.

[–]sweetZ93 9 points10 points  (1 child)

I found a pair of felco #2 at A Value Village for $4 in a bag of tools... I have never been happier in my entire life

[–]EatSleepJeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$1 at a garage sale for my #2, it's one of my proudest finds. If I don't lose it, I will never have to buy one again.

[–]bullfightr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Felco make the best professional products in this category. They are always going to be more expensive than everything else.

[–]TiiimmmboooInterested 8 points9 points  (1 child)

I don't think that tool is for a hobbyist or a home gardener lol. I can see it paying itself off in no time for a landscaping business.

[–]LaFolie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, it looks way quieter than a comparable chainsaw. It's makes a lot of sense if you are trimming in a neighborhood and want some powerful tools.

[–]Redshirt_80 15 points16 points  (4 children)

Thanks for the reply! I guess I’ll have to start a tree service to justify the purchase though :-(

[–]xedrites 3 points4 points  (3 children)

I don't get it. You know it has a whole backpack sized battery, right? Why not just get some long handled pruners? It would be so much harder to carry all that around, and put on, etc...

[–]ecodude74 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Have you tried cleaning up trees for a day with the pole pruners? It’s hell, and takes hours regardless of how much practice you have with them. With a tool like this, though, you could work easily 10x faster with almost none of the soreness.

[–]jobezark 2 points3 points  (1 child)

It really depends on how many trees you are pruning, and how often you do it. I work as a landscaper and we frequently have to clear land or prune back trees and bushes. I have never had a problem using a good pair of lopers for branches and roots of the size in the video.

Now, if I had to do it every single day for hours I could understand buying this product. My point is how many people actually clear enough brush or prune enough bushes to need something like this?

[–]n01d3a 8 points9 points  (4 children)

These electric pruners have a motor rotation speed of 20,000 rpm per minute

Yo dawg

[–]iamjamieq 1 point2 points  (2 children)

rpm per minute

Huh?

[–]n01d3a 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Direct quote from page

[–]iamjamieq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I know.

[–]Flumptastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Felco makes the best pruners you can buy, by far.

[–]Masimune 14 points15 points  (2 children)

Get a hansaw instead. This is awful for limbs that large. If you look carefully, you can see the branch collar peeling and splitting into the tree. This is horrible for the tree as it stresses it more, is harder to heal and opens it to infestation/disease.

Source: am arborist.

[–]zxcsd 5 points6 points  (1 child)

[–]cheebear12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, $2000?

First thought: they must be really dangerous.

[–]Parisloftspartysluts 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I would recommend not. They tend to break, they tend to be expensive, they tend to not like hardwood trees.

A portable electric chainsaw is much more effective and will last much longer.

The appeal of this thing is that you can mount it on a pole, for arborist work, which is... less simple with a chainsaw, although at least twice as awesome.

[–]dvdanny 2 points3 points  (1 child)

That was my thought. I have a small light electric chainsaw I use to prune larger tree limbs, when I saw the gif I thought, "cool! something that is worse then what I already have"

[–]ThreeRiversTabac 15 points16 points  (6 children)

I work for an orchard in the midwest and we use these as well. Great for pruning branches that are just a little too big to cut with the loppers. Normally they run on compressed air, meaning when we get to rows of older (normally 15-20 year old trees) we load up the compressor and get to chopping. With about 1000 trees that need this tool, it definitely speeds things up, but for the other 17000, everything is done by hand. Pruning season is just about over as the trees are about to come out of dormancy.

[–]Knurled_Nuts 4 points5 points  (3 children)

So, we should be pruning now? Everything?

(I've never had to do yard work, never wanted to, now I'm stuck with it.)

[–]aboutthednm 3 points4 points  (1 child)

You would usually prune before trees come out of dormancy, yes.

By pruning unwanted or unneeded branches, you allow the tree to focus it's energy into the branches still attached. It would be wasteful for the tree to expend it's energy into developing buds and leaves on branches that are going to be cut once things are in full swing.

I am neither an expert nor an arborist, but this seems like it makes the most sense. So purely based on my bathroom break theory, i'd prune before things start popping off in spring. In reality, i'm sure every tree has an optimal window for pruning. Now, i will wait for an expert to chime in and correct my probably wrong assumption.

[–]Horticulturist1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some trees you prune now before new growth, some trees after it flowers, some trees after it fruits. It really depends on your tree/shrub. But yeah with lots of trees you want to prune them when they are dormant! (A quick google search never hurts either...)

[–]EatSleepJeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not everything, for example lilacs need to be pruned immediately after dropping their petals. But for oaks and other disease/pest susceptible trees you want to prune in the dead of winter when the funguses and pests are dormant too. Breaching the bark while they're active can kill the tree.

[–]BigMykl 42 points43 points  (3 children)

That is stronge

[–]theoddman626 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive seen more impressive. This IS light though.

[–]Adama0001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[–]Condescending-Wink 13 points14 points  (2 children)

I feel like there needs to be better guarding for the exposed gearing

[–]chief_corb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

[–]auniqueusername77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My god, that reference is old. I love it.

[–]I_worship_odin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I had this I would just go around to every tree I could find and start chopping off their limbs. Good thing I don't have this.

[–]patchesm 6 points7 points  (1 child)

If only they performed a proper pruning cut to show if they are actually useful to an arborist.

[–]InTheBlindOnReddit 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Affectionately referred to as a "lopper". I had a journeyman call them his "Cindy's" as in Cindy Lauper. "Pass me the Cindy's, Boy!".

John and Lorena Bobbitt

John Wayne Bobbitt (born March 23, 1967 in Buffalo, New York) and Lorena Bobbitt (née Gallo, born October 31, 1970 in Bucay, Ecuador) were an American couple, married on June 18, 1989, whose relationship made world-wide headlines in 1993 when Lorena cut off her husband's penis with a knife while he was asleep in bed. The penis was subsequently surgically reattached.

Did you hear Lorena Bobbitt died in a car accident last week?

[–]AtomicSagebrush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's a gauntlet that's worn on the other hand that either stops the cutter or won't allow it to activate. It's been a few years since I looked into these for vineyard work and I don't remember the specifics.

[–]rincewindnz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the local orchards when they train people to use these they instruct them to just place the other hand behind your back or in pocket. That thing would go through most gloves easily (plus chain mail would wreck the blade).
