Stephen King

Stephen Edwin King (born September 21, 1947) is an American author of contemporary horror, supernatural fiction, suspense, science fiction, and fantasy. His books have sold more than 350 million copies, many of which have been adapted into feature films, miniseries, television shows, and comic books. King has published 54 novels, including seven under the pen name Richard Bachman, and six non-fiction books. He has written nearly 200 short stories, most of which have been collected in book collections. Many of his stories are set in his home state of Maine. His novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption was the basis for the movie The Shawshank Redemption which is widely regarded as one of the greatest films of all time.

King has received Bram Stoker Awards, World Fantasy Awards, and British Fantasy Society Awards. His novella The Way Station (1980) was a Nebula Award novelette nominee. In 2003, the National Book Foundation awarded him the Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters. His short story "The Man in the Black Suit" (1994) received the O. Henry Award. He has also received awards for his contribution to literature for his entire oeuvre, such as the World Fantasy Award for Life Achievement (2004), the Canadian Booksellers Association Lifetime Achievement Award (2007), and the Grand Master Award from the Mystery Writers of America (2007). In 2015, King was awarded with a National Medal of Arts from the United States National Endowment for the Arts for his contributions to literature.

Thomas Jane

Thomas Jane (born Thomas Elliott III; February 22, 1969) is an American actor, screenwriter, director, producer, and comic book writer. He has appeared in films such as Padamati Sandhya Ragam (1987), At Ground Zero (1994), The Crow: City of Angels (1996), Boogie Nights (1997), The Last Time I Committed Suicide (1997), Thursday (1998), The Thin Red Line (1998), Deep Blue Sea (1999), Dreamcatcher (2003), The Punisher (2004), The Mist (2007) and Mutant Chronicles (2008).

Jane's television roles include Mickey Mantle in the television film 61* (2001) and starring in the HBO series Hung (2009–2011). He is the founder of RAW Studios, an entertainment company he uses to release comic books he has written, the first of which was Bad Planet. He made his directorial debut with the crime thriller Dark Country (2009), in which he also starred.

Early life

Jane was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Cynthia, an antiques dealer, and Michael Elliott, a genetic engineer. In 1987, he graduated from Thomas Sprigg Wootton High School. At age 18, he moved to Hollywood to pursue an acting career. He was initially homeless and lived out of his car, often doing street performances to earn money: "I had two songs in my repertoire that I hammered to death, "Hey Joe" and "Knockin' on Heaven's Door". People used to pelt me with change just to shut me up."

Molly Parker

Molly Parker (born June 30, 1972) is a Canadian actress. She is best known for her roles in independent films, her role as House Majority Whip Jacqueline Sharp on House of Cards, and as Alma Garret on the HBO series Deadwood. She won a Genie Award in 1997 as Best Actress in a Leading Role for Kissed, was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award as best female lead in 2001 for her role in The Center of the World, and has twice been nominated for a Genie Award as best supporting actress (winning in 2002 for Last Wedding).

Early life

Parker was born in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, and spent her childhood on a farm.

She attended ballet classes from age 3 to 17 but began acting in local productions at age 14. Her uncle's agent represented her early in her career, when she had parts in various Canadian television roles before studying with Vancouver's Gastown Actors' Studio.

Career

Parker's breakthrough role was as the daughter of a lesbian military officer in the TV movie Serving in Silence. She then won a Gemini nomination for her performance in the TV movie Paris or Somewhere. She later won the Genie Award for best actress for playing a necrophiliac in Lynne Stopkewich's 1996 film Kissed.

Neal McDonough

Neal P. McDonough (born February 13, 1966) is an American film, television, actor and voice actor, known for his portrayal of Lieutenant Lynn "Buck" Compton in the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers (2001), Deputy District Attorney David McNorris on Boomtown (2002–2003), Sean Cahill on Suits, and Dave Williams on ABC's Desperate Housewives (2008–2009). He also appeared in films such as Walking Tall, RED 2, The Marine 3: Homefront, Traitor, and as Dum Dum Dugan in various Marvel Cinematic Universe films and TV series. He currently appears as Damien Darhk on Arrow.

Early life

McDonough was born in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Catherine (née Bushe) and Frank McDonough, motel owners who emigrated from Ireland, with his mother coming from County Tipperary and his father from County Galway. McDonough was raised Roman Catholic. He grew up in Barnstable, Massachusetts, graduated from Barnstable High School, and attended Syracuse University, where he was initiated and became a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1988. His roommate in college was Brett Pollock, current broadcaster for the Omaha Storm Chasers of the Pacific Coast League. McDonough frequently appeared as "Captain Laser", inspiring young students to bring their studies to completion. From there, McDonough trained for a short time at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).
