Disadvantaged people hardest hit by fines
Using Law Survey data, our latest Justice issues paper, released on 13 March 2018, finds that disadvantaged people are disproportionately affected by fines problems. Disadvantaged people can become caught in a vicious cycle, where inaction leads to escalating penalties and further financial strain.

DVU study provides valuable data to inform roll out

Launched on 28 February, a process evaluation conducted by the Law and Justice Foundation examines the early implementation of the Domestic Violence Unit (DVU) set up by Legal Aid NSW in January 2016. The findings suggest that the holistic approach adopted by the DVU enables it to fill important service gaps. See media release

    Cancellation of 2018 Justice Awards

    2018 Collaborative Planning Resource release
    The 2018 Collaborative Planning Resource (CPR) is now available. The latest CPR uses 2016 ABS Census data and includes data on the Need for Legal Assistance Service (NLAS) indicators which provide a count of the distribution of potential need for not-for-profit legal assistance services.
