Mortal Kombat is a video game franchise originally developed by Midway Games' Chicago studio in 1992. Following Midway's bankruptcy, the Mortal Kombat development team was acquired by Warner Bros. and turned into NetherRealm Studios. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment currently owns the rights of the franchise and rebooted it in 2011.
The development of the first game was originally based on an idea that Ed Boon and John Tobias had of making a video game starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, but as that idea fell through, a fantasy-themed fighting game titled Mortal Kombat was created instead. The original game has spawned many sequels and has been spun off into several action-adventure games, films (animated and live-action with its own sequel), and television series (animated and live-action). Other spin-offs include comic book series, a card game and a live-action tour. Along with Capcom's Street Fighter and Bandai Namco's Tekken, Mortal Kombat has become one of the most successful fighting franchises in the history of video games.
Kombat (the place of the giraffe) is a mine and its associated settlement at the southern margin of the Otavi Mountain Range in northern Namibia. It is situated 37 kilometres (23 mi) East of Otavi on the B8 to Grootfontein. Kombat at its peak had over 1,000 inhabitants. As of 2015 it is almost abandoned, although Kombat Primary School still operates at reduced capacity, and a clinic is serving the remaining inhabitants.
Minerals were discovered near Kombat in 1850. Around the year 1900, Kombat Mine was opened to extract copper. It was operated by Tsumeb Corporation Limited until the 1970s and by Ongopolo Mining as from 1999. In 2006 Ongopolo and the mine were taken over by Weatherly International PLC, a mining house based in London. Soon thereafter in 2007 the mine flooded, was abandoned, and has been dormant since. In 2015 Namibian businessman Knowledge Katti acquired the town and the mine for 50 million N$, allegedly with the intention of re-selling it to the Namibian government at a handsome profit.
Mortal Kombat 2: Annihilation is a 1997 American martial arts action film directed by John R. Leonetti. Based on the Mortal Kombat series of fighting games, the film is the sequel to 1995's Mortal Kombat. It stars Robin Shou, Talisa Soto, Brian Thompson, Sandra Hess, Lynn "Red" Williams, Irina Pantaeva, and James Remar. The storyline was largely an adaptation of Mortal Kombat 3, following a band of warriors as they attempt to save Earth from the evil Shao Kahn. Although the story picks up where the last film left off, only two of the lead actors reprised their roles.
The evil emperor Shao Kahn opens a portal from Outworld to the Earthrealm and has reclaimed his queen Sindel, who is Kitana's long-dead mother. Earthrealm is therefore in danger of being absorbed into Outworld within six days, a fate which Liu Kang and the others must fight to prevent. Kahn fights and quickly kills Johnny Cage during the confrontation by snapping his neck, and the remaining Earthrealm warriors must regroup and think of an idea to defeat Shao Kahn. An emotionally guilt-ridden Sonya Blade enlists the help of her old partner, Jax, while Kitana and Liu Kang search for a Native American shaman named Nightwolf, who seemingly knows the key to defeating Kahn. On the way, they run afoul of the cyborg Smoke. Kitana and Liu Kang dispatch him with the aid of Sub-Zero, but Scorpion suddenly appears, attacks Sub-Zero, and kidnaps Kitana.
Mortal means susceptible to death; the opposite of immortality.
Mortal may alternatively refer to:
Annihilation is defined as "total destruction" or "complete obliteration" of an object; having its root in the Latin nihil (nothing). A literal translation is "to make into nothing".
In physics, the word is used to denote the process that occurs when a subatomic particle collides with its respective antiparticle, such as an electron colliding with a positron. Energy and momentum are conserved, and the annihilated particles are replaced by photons, electromagnetic wave quanta with zero rest mass. Antiparticles have exactly opposite additive quantum numbers from particles, so the sums of all quantum numbers of the original pair are zero. Hence, any set of particles may be produced whose total quantum numbers are also zero as long as conservation of energy and conservation of momentum are obeyed. When a particle and its antiparticle collide, their energy is converted into a force carrier particle, such as a gluon, W/Z force carrier particle, or a photon. These particles are afterwards transformed into other particles.

First off: There are 2 songs during this scene: 1. Joseph Bishara - Death Is the Only Way Out (0:48) 2. Shaun Imrei - Two Telephone Calls and an Air Raid (2:05) This is a scene from Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. It's the scene where Cyrax intrudes the SpecOps facility where Jax got his cybernetic arms and confronts Jax and Sonya. Enjoy! The songs in the movie are an altered version of those on the CD. However: Thapoetikal1 has attempted to make a more "movie-accurate" version of "Two Telephone calls and an Air Raid" It can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dMbsfH9lrA Mortal Kombat (c) Warner Bros. & NetherRealm Studios (formerly Midway Games Inc.) MORTAL KOMBAT II ANNIHILATION: Jax Briggs vs Cyrax and Sonya Blade vs Extermination Squads, Squads Sent by Shao Kahn. (Fighter Scene) Movie.
Fight combat so you've got to go, go, gone
This surge has taken destined to bestow
Get over here
Cold morning wrapped in shivering silence
I hear the fountains pour and I'm reassured
Alive
Before I forget to remember
Final round, saltwater swallow choke my lung
Cough out blue tears in the company of none
All drunken eyes
Raining just like the day I heard of
Your devastating acceleration
Rain kept hitting ground, I drown
My head is in the clouds
And I am soaked right through
Gotta dry these dripping clothes
Or else every hand I shake
Could catch these dripping blues
Gotta dry these dripping clothes
Or else every hand I shake
Could catch these dripping blues
Gotta dry these dripping clothes
I've gotta get out of these dripping clothes
We're staring into
A void that seems to be, everywhere between
The skyline down to the sea
Shine your distant rest - anaethetised
Finish him
Sun's gone to plan for a better day
Sun's gone to plan for
