    Le Du Restaurant

    Silom - Modern Thai

Le Du, located in the now fine-dining haven of Silom, offers highly creative cuisine courtesy of a young Thai-born chef who, along with his team, has won over critics for his visionary techniques and approaches. Despite a French sounding name, Le Du is not a French restaurant at all… Le Du means 'Season' in Thai and categorizing the menu is a bit difficult. It could be defined as 'Young Creative Cuisine with Thai Roots' - with touches from many international origins. And here ‘Young’ doesn’t mean amateur - Chef Ton at Le Du has an accomplished culinary background. Read More...

    Bunker

    Sathorn - American Cuisine

Bunker Restaurant in Bangkok, set in a cool three-storey building in Sathorn, serves refined cuisine, picking dishes from across the culinary traditions of Europe with the addition of some American bravado. Their belief in strong flavours is apparent throughout the menu: salads are served earthy and partially raw, the cured foie gras is especially creamy, the pastas are rich and filling. Bunker serves immaculate cuisine, but it's also a fashionable, intimate space with impeccable service – certainly among the best high-end restaurants in Bangkok Read More...

    Mezzaluna at Lebua Hotel

    Silom - Haute Cuisine

Mezzaluna is a truly exceptional fine dining restaurant, located inside the iconic golden 'Dome' at the top of lebua hotel. Famed for its set menus that come in four or seven courses only, Mezzaluna impresses with a new daily menu of world-class haute cuisine prepared by a visionary chef. Chef Ryuki Kawasaki has worked his way around the world in a game of ‘who’s who’ with culinary giants including Pierre Gagnaire and Joel Robuchon, so it’s fair to say we had sky-high expectations on our latest visit – all of which were exceeded with aplomb. This is an expensive restaurant (4,900 baht for 4 courses, 5,900 baht for 7 courses), but if you are looking to dazzle someone on a special occasion, Mezzaluna has it all. Read More...

    Suhring

    Sathorn - Modern German cuisine

Sühring Restaurant would grace any city in the world, so the fact they decided to open in Bangkok is a great boon for the city. The modern German cuisine is truly exceptional and the familial setting feels inviting and genuine. Opened by the famed twin chefs, Thomas and Mathias Sühring (known best in Bangkok from their celebrated tenure at Mezzlauna), this was a high profile restaurant opening because they serve something previously unknown to Bangkok’s fine-dining lovers: seasonal, high-end German cuisine. L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon

    Silom - Modern French

L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon Bangkok opened in early 2015 and sent shockwaves through the dining scene in Thailand. Serving French haute cuisine with a focus on meticulous preparation of taste, texture and style, this is the latest addition to the prestigious restaurant group run by Joël Robuchon, a man who has been called ‘Chef of the Century’ by the Gault Millau guide – and with an unparalleled 28 Michelin stars awarded to his restaurants across the world it’s hard to argue with his pedigree. Although Joel himself is not in the kitchen on a daily basis (he visits frequently and has famously high standards), the kitchen is headed by Executive Chef Olivier Limousin, who previously ran the kitchen at the two Michelin starred restaurant L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon in London. Eat Me

    Eat Me Restaurant

Behind these doors is some of most daring Indian food this side of Calcutta, which, incidentally, is the hometown of chef Gaggan Anand, the mastermind behind the impressive dishes. His credentials are impressive: cooking for Bill Clinton and interning at the world famous El Bulli in Spain, before finally opening the doors to the restaurant that shares his name in late 2010. Freebird

    Sukhumvit - Australian/Pacific

Freebird Bangkok is part of the new breed of restaurants in the capital that focuses on inventive, high-level cuisine, but presented in a casual, lively atmosphere. Gone are crisp white table cloths and silver service (there are plenty of high-end hotels doing that already, anyway), and in their place is graffiti on the walls, abstract ceiling lights and funky tunes on the stereo. In the kitchen, all the culinary tricks are put to good use, but there’s no overly pretentious use of smoke or foam. Read More...

    Water Library Chamchuri

    Silom - European fine dining

The Water Library at Chamchuri has been one of the key players in Bangkok’s fine-dining since opening six years ago. This successful team has opened several other venues around the city but the Chamchuri original is the flagship. It's sometimes described by vague terms such as ‘contemporary western’ or ‘European with a twist’, but after trying their seasonal set menu, we think it's best described as immaculately plated French haute cuisine, with plenty of the classics making an appearance such as foie gras, scallops and pigeon.
