This report is an independent publication, prepared with the support of UNDP in the Kyrgyz Republic. The research and development of the report is the result of joint efforts of the team of authors, experts and consultants, as well as the results of discussions held during its preparation with representatives of government at the national and regional levels, non-governmental organizations, local governments, local communities and the media.

This special issue of the Barak Elde tells about the results of the UNDP-GEF project on “Improving the coverage and management effectiveness of PAs in the Central Tian Shan Mountains” and the work of the newly established State Nature Park “Khan-Teniri” in Central Tian-Shan mountains, ecological corridors and how Issyk-Kul’s residents are helping with protection of wildlife.
