Television is one of the major mass media of the United States. As of 2011, household ownership of television sets in the country is 96.7%, and the majority of households have more than one set, with approximately 114,200,000 American households owning at least one television set as of August 2013. The peak ownership percentage of households with at least one television set occurred during the 1996–97 season, with 98.4% ownership.
As a whole, the television networks that broadcast in the United States are the largest and most distributed in the world, and programs produced specifically for U.S.-based networks are the most widely syndicated internationally. Due to a recent surge in the number and popularity of critically acclaimed television series during the 2000s and the 2010s to date, many critics have said that American television is currently undergoing a modern golden age.
In the United States, television is available via broadcast (also known as "over-the-air") – the earliest method of receiving television programming, which merely requires an antenna and an equipped internal or external tuner capable of picking up channels that transmit on the two principal broadcast bands, very high frequency (VHF) and ultra high frequency (UHF), in order to receive the signal – and four conventional types of multichannel subscription television: cable, unencrypted satellite ("free-to-air"), direct-broadcast satellite television and IPTV (internet protocol television). There are also competing video services on the World Wide Web, which have become an increasingly popular mode of television viewing since the late 2000s, particularly with younger audiences as an alternative or a supplement to the aforementioned traditional forms of viewing television content.

"Three Minutes" is the 47th episode of Lost. It is the 22nd episode of the second season. The episode was directed by Stephen Williams, and written by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. It first aired May 17, 2006, on ABC. The emotionally conflicted character of Michael Dawson is featured in the episode's flashbacks. It also marks a transition for Mr. Eko, from his project of building a church, to his self-appointed role of entering the numbers in the computer.
Benjamin Michael "Ben" Lee (born 11 September 1978) is an Australian musician and actor. Lee began his career as a musician at the age of 14 with the Sydney band Noise Addict, but focused on his solo career when the band broke up in 1995. He appeared as the protagonist in the Australian film The Rage in Placid Lake (2003). He has released eleven solo studio albums.
Lee's musical career began in 1993 with the band Noise Addict, who were signed to Steve Pavlovic's independent label Fellaheen Records, on the strength of a self-produced and distributed four-track demo recorded in Lee's bedroom. Pavlovic's connections brought the band to the attention of Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore and Beastie Boys' Mike D, both of whom released the band's material in the US. The group put out several releases on the Beasties' Grand Royal Records. These including the acoustic Young and Jaded EP in 1994, which contained Lee's Evan Dando tribute, "I Wish I Was Him." In 1995, Grand Royal released the band's only full length, the Brad Wood produced Meet the Real You. Noise Addict made a music video for the song "16", toured with Sebadoh, but then broke up. Lee was also briefly a member of the alternative act Gerling. In 2009 Lee recorded a new Noise Addict album, It was Never about the Audience, with a new lineup; Lou Barlow and Lara Meyerratken.
Television is a telecommunication medium used for transmitting sound with moving images in monochrome (black-and-white), or in colour, and in two or three dimensions. It can refer to a television set, a television program, or the medium of television transmission. Television is a mass medium, for entertainment, education, news and advertising.
Television became available in crude experimental forms in the late 1920s. After World War II, an improved form became popular in the United States and Britain, and television sets became commonplace in homes, businesses, and institutions. During the 1950s, television was the primary medium for influencing public opinion. In the mid-1960s, color broadcasting was introduced in the US and most other developed countries. The availability of storage media such as VHS tape (1976), DVDs (1997), and high-definition Blu-ray Discs (2006) enabled viewers to watch recorded material such as movies. At the end of the first decade of the 2000s, digital television transmissions greatly increased in popularity. Another development was the move from standard-definition television (SDTV) (576i, with 576 interlaced lines of resolution and 480i) to high-definition television (HDTV), which provides a resolution that is substantially higher. HDTV may be transmitted in various formats: 1080p, 1080i and 720p. Since 2010, with the invention of smart television, Internet television has increased the availability of television programs and movies via the Internet through services such as Netflix, iPlayer, Hulu, Roku and Chromecast.

The point of this video? Not to create animosity nor give an audience to hateful statements from people who, because of their own apathy, in part created the world we now live. The point of this video is to make anyone who cares to pull together and stop the down fall as best as they can. To be good to one another and stop blaming everybody else for our own short comings. To heal ourselves so that we can heal others. Not as separate parts, but as a whole sum of Humanity! This video has now been seen in 190+ countries! Still people don't seem to be getting the point. “Television” is a documentary on the history of television, broadcast by PBS in eight hour-long episodes in January – March 1988. The series is based on a history of television in England produced by Granada Television and incorporates some of that historical material. Written by Michael Winship, and produced by KCET and WNET, the series is hosted by NBC News reporter Edwin Newman. The New York Times observed that “The series charts the development of the various program forms - the sitcom, the hour-long drama, the live ‘spectacle,’ the variety show, the news telecast. It opens with a breathtaking montage of moments grasped and forever defined by television - the explosion of the space shuttle Challenger, the American victory over the Soviet hockey team in the 1980 Olympics, the tiny figur...
This is a filmed record (not a kinescope) of the first actual "public" television broadcast in the United States. (There were perhaps three receivers capable of receiving the signal.) This show starts with the "live" portion (which has been filmed, rather awkwardly....it's sometimes hard to see the actual image being broadcast). Then there are some Pathé newsreels which were broadcast, followed by more live footage. A rather befuddled Ed Wynn vamps for a bit, and there are appearances by Eddie Green and George Wilshire, as well as The Pickens Sisters. This show was broadcast to the various RCA licencees, who were in attendance, watching on one of the receivers.. Some identify themselves on-camera.

Back in the day, when i was a teenager
Out on my own fall in love with strangers.
Oh no desire, what are you putting me through?
You look beautiful in 1992.
I'm watching, what do i want to be?
Baby, i'm in love with possibility.
Give me sex, and give me patience.
I can't wait, i can't wait. change the station.
I'm watching american television.
Back in the day waiting for a sign to move.
I got nothing to say, i got something to prove.
Oh me, oh my, teenagers get bored.
You look beautiful in 1994.
I'm dreaming, it's not a fantasy.
Baby, i'm in love with reality.
Give me joy, give me emotion.
I can't wait, i can't wait, change the program.
I'm watching american television.
Here we are, now we are the boulevard.
Dropped off our fear at the junkyard.
Oh man, we can turn it up load.
You look beautiful, right here, right now.
I'm still watching, what do i want to be?
Baby i'm in love with possibility.
Give me sex, indecision.
I'm watching american television.
I'm watching, what do i want to be?
