According to the New Testament, Mary (Miriam: Hebrew: מרים; c. 18 BC – c. 43 AD), also known as Saint Mary, the Virgin Mary, or the Blessed Virgin Mary—amongst other titles, styles and honorifics—was a Galilean Jewish woman of Nazareth and the mother of Jesus.
The gospels of Matthew and Luke in the New Testament describe Mary as a virgin (Greek: παρθένος, parthénos) and Christians believe that she conceived her son while a virgin by the Holy Spirit. This took place when she was already betrothed to Joseph and was awaiting the concluding rite of marriage, the formal home-taking ceremony. She married Joseph and accompanied him to Bethlehem, where Jesus was born. According to ancient Jewish custom, Mary could have been betrothed at about 12, however, there is no direct evidence of Mary's age at betrothal or in pregnancy. The term "betrothal" is an awkward translation of kiddushin; according to the Jewish law those called "betrothed" were actually husband and wife.
The Gospel of Luke begins its account of Mary's life with the Annunciation, when the angel Gabriel appeared to her and announced her divine selection to be the mother of Jesus. According to gospel accounts, Mary was present at the Crucifixion of Jesus and is depicted as a member of the early Christian community in Jerusalem. According to Apocryphal writings, at some time soon after her death, her incorrupt body was assumed directly into Heaven, to be reunited with her soul, and the apostles thereupon found the tomb empty; this is known in Christian teaching as the Assumption.
St. Mary's, St. Marys, or St. Maries may refer to the following places:
Saint Mary's County (often abbreviated as St. Mary's County), established in 1637, is a county located in the U.S. state of Maryland. As of the 2010 census, the population was 105,151. Its county seat is Leonardtown. The name is in honor of Mary, the mother of Jesus.
St. Mary's County comprises the California-Lexington Park, MD Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Washington-Baltimore-Arlington, DC-MD-VA-WV-PA Combined Statistical Area. It is part of the Southern Maryland region. The county was the home to the first Maryland Colony, the first capitol of the Colony of Maryland and is considered to be the birthplace of religious freedom in North America.
It is also home to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station and also St. Mary's College of Maryland.
St. Mary's County has been traditionally known for its unique and historic culture of Chesapeake Bay tidewater farming, fishing and crabbing communities. But with the advent of the military bases, growth of an extensive defense contractor presence and the growth of St. Mary's College of Maryland, as well as increasing numbers of long-distance Washington D.C. commuters, it has been undergoing a decades-long transformation. The county's population has doubled since 1970.
Mary may refer to:
A county, abbreviated Cnty. (US) or Co. (UK and Ireland), is a geographical region of a country used for administrative or other purposes, in certain modern nations. The term is derived from the Old French conté or cunté denoting a jurisdiction under the sovereignty of a count (earl) or a viscount. The modern French is comté, and its equivalents in other languages are contea, contado, comtat, condado, Grafschaft, graafschap, Gau, etc. (cf. conte, comte, conde, Graf).
When the Normans conquered England, they brought the term with them. The Saxons had already established the districts that became the historic counties of England, calling them shires (many county names derive from the name of the county town with the word "shire" added on: for example, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire). The Vikings introduced the term earl (from Old Norse, jarl) to the British Isles. Thus, "earl" and "earldom" were taken as equivalent to the continental use of "count" and "county". So the later-imported term became a synonym for the native English word scir ([ʃiːr]) or, in Modern English, shire. Since a shire was an administrative division of the kingdom, the term "county" evolved to designate an administrative division of national government in most modern uses.
Asst. Sheriff of St. Mary's Co., Md. Major John Horne interjects himself into a Budget Work Session with the Commissioners of St. Mary's County on March 15, 2016. Visibly upset, he scolds the commissioners, especially John O'Connor and Mike Hewitt, essentially telling them that theirs is to approve the budget, not tell the sheriff how to spend it. At the end of his lecture, he gathers his belongings and walks out of the room. The mood in the room was quiet and professional up to this point. Sheriff Cameron sat quietly throughout the entire outburst. He is seated at the table, back to camera, on far left. The video of the entire meeting can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysd2Q...
On November 23, 2015, at approximately 7:30 p.m., St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Corporal Jamie Davis responded to a reported traffic complaint in the area of Point Lookout Road in Loveville, St. Mary’s County. Several citizens observed a vehicle operating in a reckless manner and on the wrong side of the roadway. Corporal Davis located the vehicle in the area of Rt. 242 at Rt. 234 and initiated a vehicle stop. During the vehicle stop, the driver of the vehicle attempted to elude officers by fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed. After traveling on Rt. 242, toward the seventh district, the driver made in abrupt U-turn and headed back toward Leonardtown. Deputies deployed stop sticks in an attempt to disable the vehicle which was successful at slowing the speeds. As the pursuit con...

Ranger Christy Bright is the State Parks Manager in the Maryland Department of Natural Resources in St. Mary's County. This video was taped at Point Lookout State Park on the Chesapeake Bay in St. Mary's County. Ranger Bright relates information in this video about the numerous State Parks located in St. Mary's County where, it has been said, the best fishing in the state can be found. The unspoiled parks in St. Mary's are perfect for birding, camping, picnicking, fishing, kayaking, para sailing and many more water sports and a little about the "Haunted" Point Lookout Lighthouse.

She's got a ticket and she's waiting at the station
She's got to get away as far as she can
Her problems will arise as sure as the sun shine
She's got to get used to living on the lam
Now marry's out the door with a loaded 44 in her hand
Shooting down the law that shot down her dear departed man
When i last saw her she was looking trouble
She said this is the 90's i'm gonna be alright
She took the greyhound into salinas
I got a letter that she dropped out of sight
Now marry's out the door with a loaded 44 in her hand
Shooting down the law that shot down her dear departed man
Shrouded in anger encompassed by pain
He was your best friend and you will never ever ever see him again
Now marry's out the door with a loaded 44 in her hand
